New strap for Speedy Pro - where to buy

I have the Speedy pro on the original alligator strap with the deployant buckle.

I would like to have the option to change to something like the below, but would anyone know when to get one that still fits the deployant? Or an online shop that sells original omega straps (am aware of watchobsission.co.uk)?

Thanks,

Cousins in the uk sell an aftermarket strap that fits the Omega deployant. I've got one and it's great quality and a perfect fit.

However, I believe they only do black or brown alligator, not calf etc. I could be wrong so it's worth checking.

The deploy clasp can be found on various used sales forums or from and OB or AD. There are not too many online options, and the ones that are still around usually have markedly higher prices than retail.

For OEM Omega straps same thing as @billyblue stated - best bet is online sales forums rather than online retailers.

As for watchobsession, they have own Omega-fitment straps that are of decent quality made from leather in original and embossed finishes. IMO a bit overpriced as you can get similar quality leather from waccex (Bob Marino) and other online sources, but a known and respected retailer whose customer service is top notch.

To get one in the color and style you referenced above best bet is a custom order. There are plenty of online makers here and in other avenues that can construct one of very high quality that won't break the bank. Peter.watchacc, @jankoxxx , martu straps, etc. all have many ringing endorsements.

The Aqua Terra Master comes with a very nice brown deployant strap - if it is in fact 20mm, then my plan is to order one from an AD for my Speedy.

That's the Barenia Calf strap from Omega. Not sure about the size, but it comes in both 19 and 20mm depending on the AT size (38.5 has 19mm lugs, 41.5 has 20mm). It also comes in 21mm as an option for the SM300 MC. 19mm uses 16mm clasp, 20 and 21 use 18mm.
The Barenia Calf is the best price/performance strap Omega makes. Roughly 1/2 to 1/3 the retail price of OEM Omega Alligator straps. Super soft, well padded, fit and finish get better with age.

For a single-fold deployant, I think you need a custom strap (or one specifically designed for a single-fold deployant) -- one where the lengths of each side are about the same. If you use a standard strap, the folded deployant will sit far up one side or the other. With the current setup, note how the deployant is roughly opposite the watch body; with a standard strap, one end of the deployant will be roughly opposite the body, with the deployant going way up one side or the other (to be comfortable, you may have to reverse the band).

If I were to order in 20mm would it include the deployant hardware or would that be a seperate purchase?

Straps and hardware are always priced separately. Do a search on "Omega Deploy" and read and research the results - plenty of information out there.

Thank you!!

I found a reasonably priced Deploy clasp - may or may not be authentic OEM - will advise when I receive my order

https://www.etsy.com/listing/265531049/18mm-polished-omega-stainless-steel

Don't purchase that clasp. It's a knockoff that most likely won't close correctly. Spend extra and get the real thing. Go without coffee/tea/energy drinks for two weeks and you'll have the difference.
Do a search for "replica Omega clasp" and you'll see the reasons why. Don't waste a little good money on garbage, spend more good money on a sound, quality investment.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I do already have the deployant clasp, and was just looking for a strap that was close to the one I found on Hodinkee but fitted the original clasp... Seems that is impossible 🙁

There are a cubic buttload of them on eBay. Just make sure they fit the 18mm clasp. Otto Frei has some as well but not as inexpensive.

I made this thread when I got my 57, but since the lug width is the same, you can check out the straps I went with.

https://omegaforums.net/threads/speedmaster-57-first-post.29739/

I also have the 18mm Omega deployant that I bought from the boutique.

All three of the straps that I bought came from Ebay and fit the deployant perfectly. The dark brown and the black were slightly better quality than the tan, but all three were extremely cheap. Around $25-$30. I couldn't be happier with them. They look great and are cheap enough to be disposable.

The strange thing is that the seller that I bought the straps from removed them from ebay shortly after. You can still find them though.

Anyone's got a place where you can get an overview of all original Omega straps? Like the catalog that they have at an Omega Boutique?

I got a pair from http://www.ebay.com/usr/magicstrap?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 to test fit and quality. Both fit perfectly on the Omega OEM clasp; I'd say constructed with better than decent quality materials, relatively inexpensive, but IMO well-executed straps.
