Gorgeous! Thanks for the update. I'm usually all for keeping the original parts but in this case I believe you did the right thing. There's patina and then there's damage, and I think the original dial was too far gone. Enjoy your like-new 1000m!

It's nice that they refinished the (radial brush) case and didn't replace it with a service (sunburst) one. Am I right?

Correct, the only parts they replaced were the hands, dial and crown, all of which were sent back with the watch.
