This is my first post on this forum. Usually just stop by to read, but joined a little while ago. Got this yesterday and thought it would be a good time to start posting here. Recognize some of the usernames from another place. Always nice to see that.
It's a wonderful, wonderful watch. Definitely on my wish list, as I was born in '57 but can't come close to being able to afford a Speedmaster actually made in 1957. Congratulations, and may you enjoy many, many years of happy wearing!
Even though i would like it better without the date, for me the new 57 is the most beautiful modern speedmaster. Congrats, enjoy your watch btw i prefer the brown/orange leather on this one
Thanks everyone. I'm really loving it. There's something about it that doesn't come across in pictures. Mine came from an AD and not from a boutique. So didn't get the nice new box. Would have been nice, but I already packed the box away so would have never seen it anyway. The three leather straps are aftermarket (20/18) and are made for the 18mm omega deployment. I was actually surprised they fit so well. Pretty much perfect. Picked up the deployment from an Omega boutique. In case anyone is wondering, it cost less at the boutique than it does at Ofrei. Even after 8.25% tax.
Can we have some more info about the straps please? Where did you get them from? Are you happy with the quality/price?
The straps are aftermarket from Ebay. They are made to Omega OEM specs and fit the OEM deployment perfectly. The black and the brown seem to be a bit nicer in terms of quality, but the tan isn't much worse. All three look and feel great. Each is less than $30 and for that price I think they are amazing.
Thank you very much for the posting of this beauty! A watch I am definitely considering, too. Already with different strap options for us to meander about
It seems to me that because of the sandwich layout of the dial theres a bigger gap between the dial and the date wheel, anybode else notice this?
