Thats an incredibly kind offer padders, thank you! However we are 2 hours south and that would be a long way to travel to find that it has a Timex movement installed in place?!. (I'm certain that the watch buttons started and re-set the large hand when tried yesterday) I'm sure we can get an appointment with the local Salisbury jeweller who appear to have some expertise in vintage Omega etc.
My father-in law inherited a few heirlooms - including this one - from a family member. Who had been a spitfire pilot in WW2. He was shot down and then sent to POW camp, and subsequently escaped twice. The Breitling watch which survived that adventure which he was also left is now in the their museum. (They replaced it with a brand new model, still sat in the cupboard).
This watch took my Mother-in Laws eye and somehow the present strap was fitted later. It clearly is a ladies fit. (She passed 7 years ago)
Anyways, will update when I have something more definitive on condition / movement.
Many thanks again, Mark
