I love this watch, what still doesn’t make sense to me is the gold edition of this watch.

What’s wrong with the old waves?

Nothing is “wrong” with the old waves, I just prefer the new ones that look more “pronounced” check my photo..

Yesterday I was a little lukewarm, however, after a nights sleep, this looks like a killer watch! Sure, the animation on the back is a little much, but a huge fan of the many small aesthetic changes.

Still debating if I should add myself on the list. Might as well wait for 2023 and see what the actual seamaster anniversary brings and make a decision then.

The gold one doesn't look very James Bond like, more like a villains watch.

Apparently it's supposed to be a Jamaica theme. Where Ian Fleming's estate "GoldenEye" is located and also where several 007 movies have taken place.

From Hodinkee:

NATO Version

Bond-60th-seamaster-hero.jpg

I really like this version -- not crazy about the animation but the colours are my fave so far on a new-model 300m and I prefer these waves to the ones on my 2018 black.

On some list now somewhere, not optimistic about arrival anytime soon but this a neat new variant IMO.

You and me both. Maybe it is because I am of the Daniel Craig Bond generation, but the styling does not seem as spy-esque or utilitarian. Take it with a grain of salt.

I get your point - but I'm on the otherside. I really like it and am going to try to get one. I like the no-date, call-back wave pattern, darker blue, and mesh bracelet. The bond connection is cool and nothing bond-ish on the dial other than the 60. I love the subtlety. The Brosnan era was fun and transformative for the franchise, so I like that too. While i recognize the engineering cool factor in the caseback, it neither bothers nor attracts me. I'd have preferred that they didn't do it if only because the watch might have been cheaper and more plentiful without it.

I was quite literally about to pull the trigger on a second hand NTTD, this is the same price but I get a new watch and for me personally a more significant Bond edition as it's a generic celebratory edition rather than a specific film. Really like the loss of pip and subtle 60, just wish they'd have taken the opportunity to loose the hev, will they ever or is this too much of a recognizable feature now?

I’d still go for the NTTD. The price will slowly creep up once it goes out of circulation. You can find a cheaper one with NATO and get the Milanese directly from omega and it might work out cheaper.

The helium valve is a signature and icon of the SMP. It isn't going anywhere. It's one of those stuff that makes the SMP instantly recognisable if you see someone wearing it.

I prefer it over the last Bond watch. In my opinion… Seems to be very very similar.

I’d just get an old 90s Bronson, Refurbish it like new… and spend some of the remaining money on A PPk with a nice Tux.

I guess most of us prefer the sleaker toolwatch 300 version, awaiting the "Seamaster Only" reference guide focusing on Seamaster toolwatches !
Worn betwen triquetrum bone and the forearm bone, I fear that the HeV Helium valve toothpaste cap must hit & after a while hurt the forearm bone ?!

210.30.42.20.03.002 is a 300D I can get behind. Lack of 007 fanboy details on the dial and hands is huge for me. I love the aluminum bezel, domed sapphire and the dial is much nicer than the regular offering IMO. Well done; love the '60' at 12.

Edit: I think it will wear and look better with the old school Omega shark mesh with seat belt clasp when I buy it.

I have the opposite view. To me, it's less significant, as this 60th model has never been worn by James Bond. Hence I consider it to be a Bond tribute rather than an official Bond watch.

It's a beautiful watch regardless, I think Omega will do very well with it.
