New Bond watch

I have the opposite view. To me, it's less significant, as this 60th model has never been worn by James Bond. Hence I consider it to be a Bond tribute rather than an official Bond watch.

It's a beautiful watch regardless, I think Omega will do very well with it.

James Bond’s never worn anything. He doesn’t exist.

There are Actors who portray the Fictional character in motion pictures , in which during the film making process they actually Wear the watches.

Normally I would say the one without the helium valve, but it feels weird without it.

Spoke to my AD yesterday about this one — said that after the Snoopy fiasco (none have showed up more than 2 years on) they are only taking two names and deposits and will expand list if they actually see these arriving in store.

Still a gorgeous watch, looking forward to seeing one at some point.

Rang several ADs. Many told me they are worried this will go down the snoopy route. I wonder if omega HQ is purposely telling ADs this to manage supply and demand at the beginning? Anybody recall what happened with the NTTD? There was a moment last Xmas where you couldn’t get any. Now easily available.

Oh. So some people put more value on a watch that a fictional person wears in particular film rather than one that tributes the entire series of films. Makes perfect sense to me.

I doubt that Omega HQ is involved hyping the watch in terms of suggesting that it will be as hard to get as the Snoopy.

I think that the reason why there are people suggesting this is because the Snoopy manufacturing has been rumored to be slower due to the rear display mechanism. Now the new Bond 60 has a rear display mechanism. So, that could be why.

Back to when the NTTD first came out, like the green 300M it was not widely available at first. This is typical of hot new releases. They come in 3s and 4s and go to the repeat customers or those who had their name on an informal list. I wasn't asked to put down a deposit for the NTTD, but I was asked to do so for the Bond 60.

The NTTD has it lovers and detractors, more so than the Snoopy, more than the Buzz butt 50th Apollo. Some people can't get past the faux aged lume.

I actually prefer the non 007 emblem versions. To each their own.

Interested if any ADs in the U.K. taking deposits because none have asked me for one. They seem pretty clueless

I’m curious to know if this stainless steel mesh bracelet will have more flexibility than the titanium mesh for smaller wrists.

We all know James Bond is a fictional character, but if one is a fan of the movies then the watches that have appeared in the movies are the ones more officially considered as Bond watches. Yes, these are more meaningful to me.

Watches like the 40th, 50th, & 60th Anniversary models pay tribute to the franchise (of the same fictional character), which is great if that's what you value. But by your same logic, these should be considered "fictitious" Bond watches, having never appeared in an official Bond movie.

From what I've seen from those who've bought the steel mesh, it has the same fitment challenges for smaller wrists. Also, because steel is harder than titanium, I suspect it will take longer to break in the mesh links around the holes to increase flexibility.

This video shows the bracelet fitment on a small wrist, starting about 2 min 39 secs into the video.

Thanks for sharing this. It’s a great example of how to get more clicks, with a dramatic title and a strong opinion, too. The commentary is expected, pushing people into one corner or another. YouTube is all about creating divisions, even here.

It’s just a watch. I’m planning to get one. I could also skip it. Both options are okay.

Yep, I totally agree. In the watch world that bearded, mouth-breather, O'Malley and Mister Slick Hair Goo - Paul Thorpe are two of the worst for click-baity, alarmist, bullshit.

The "small wrist" problem is really an issue, specially for me, thanks for sharing that video. But, I gotta say this line here wins:

"It’s just a watch. I’m planning to get one. I could also skip it. Both options are okay." The only thing missing was the emoji: 😝
