Murmurs about new release

Even if the 45-46mm case days are over, it seems that the current trend is towards 40, 41mm cases. Rolex just came up to a 41mm case in the Sub in 2020 (I think) and just added a larger 40mm explorer, didn't they? Seems we're moving towards a 39mm-42mm average size being "the norm."
This is what I mean by it's not just the case size, it's the proportions. I have a 39.5 PO, and it definitely needs some tweaking. Omega is SOOOOO close to perfection (at least for me), but not quite there. I love the bracelets and clasps on the Diver and PO.

Just bring the size down to 40mm or 39mm ffs or offer a smaller size than 42-44mm.

The strap looks like on the planet oceans of 45,5mm

Edit; as i see now, the 43,5 also has the same strap.

The preview is just a titanium version of the 45.5mm GMT. Aside from materials, the geometric dimensions are identical. Case dimensions will be the same. I wouldn't get excited for a main line update — This will be the ultra light of the PO line, like the ones made for the Aqua Terras. Very expensive, and no bracelet.

Agree, it will mainly be a material and movement material difference, dimensions will remain the same.

Rather buy the Pelagos LHD, Pelagos black, Pelagos blue, Pelagos 39 and Pelagos FXD and still have 2.5k AUD left over.

Or... 2 x Submariners from the grey market.

What on earth is the omega R&D team doing!?!?

I think they must be locked in a basement with no actual awareness of the outside world.

Like the TV show severance.

New technique show-off, I get it.
Looks completely computer or AI designed/generated.

Where is the soul?

To be fair it looks like a great watch

But it is a massive watch and niche

It’s just frustrating - I love the omega brand and style but they are not releasing exciting watches for ‘me’.

I want an amazing omega gmt.

Interesting. Really pushing the edge of tech which could distinguish the model line. I do like ceramic cases- in addition to being lighter I wonder if this ceramic is less prone to shatter? Titanium movement is pretty cool- does it offer size advantages in addition to weight savings?

I agree, fire them all, look for Alpina, or Tissot, or Tudor, or Baltic engineers...

It's just a watch to show off new technology. Just like the Spirate Super Racing, titanium worldtimer, Omegasteel in the Ultra Deep (mind you, the next gen PloProf!) and now this big piece. Last months Planet Ocean ETNZ Chrono had the same dimensions but at 19mm thick, and at a discount of only 15K EUR.
All this tech will trickle down into wearable and more affordable watches in the future.
Omega has a monthly single release this year, and mostly pieces that no one asked for. It's the strategy for 2023. I'm sure this is a sidestep, and they will get back on track with some welcome releases soon.

Omega should take a page from the Christopher Ward playbook. I don't own any at the moment, but still receive emails. Look at the story behind the C60 Trident Pro 300. Christopher Ward asked the forum what they want in an ideal dive watch. The response was smaller case sizes (38, 40, 42) and a THINNER watch (11.3 mm). It still has 300 m water resistance, and a see through case back. No reason the Diver 300 can't be similar in thickness. My point is that it appears more people than not, want watches that are smaller these days. And some companies listen to what their customers actually want. Sorry for the rant, and I also acknowledge that Omega is releasing exactly what some people want. Too big for me, is perfect for others.

Completely different watch, game changer.

Now it's modified, but enjoying same slimness

Can you remind me which casebook you use? I ordered one via a local watchmaker ages ago but it never showed up and he said the company was basically non-responsive, so thinking of trying again.

I love my FOIS, but had always planned to move to a transparent caseback at some point.

I like the color scheme and love the movement.

The price is actually not as bad as I feared (I was imagining 50k like the Ultra Light AT) but at that price I'd rather spend a bit more and get another gold speedy.

Its the same size as my Casamigos PO, so yea pretty big. Diameter doesnt bother me but the thickness can definitely get in the way depending on what im wearing.

I'm interested but too expensive + too close to what I already have in my collection.
