Looks like new titanium Planet Ocean is going to be released. Omega just teased something on their IG.

Entire movement in Titanium too? And that rotor looks way slimmer than existing movements. Slimmer PO?!

Oh my god, why do they keep making GMT PO's instead of SMPs or SM300s...

The 8906 is 29mm wide, you don't need to jam it in a 44mm+ case with 600m WR. Put the damn thing in a 41-42mm case rated to 150m. That would be more than adequate for a GMT travel watch. The PO is a big, tough, deep sea diver. It makes no sense for it to be the GMT in Omega's catalogue.

Because a a mid 13.5 mm thickness(or slightly less) @ 40-41mm in an SM300 case, with a date window at 3, with 100-150m water resistance, would make way too much sense?

I always thought it would work best in an AT case. Get rid of the giant World Timer and make it a GMT watch instead.

Absolutely, the only reason I am thinking in terms of the heritage case is because it already has a rotating bezel and it would obviously be a shot at rolexs GMT master.

That may be why Omega has not done it though, if they don't think they can get the case height right, for fear of more direct comparison. But let's be honest, these two Brands get compared often anyway

Only problem with the heritage is Omega is going to want to keep the 300m water depth which is going to make the case beefier. Having the AT case with 150m water depth should help prevent the 14mm+ thick case on a 41mm watch.

Just tweak the case sizes, dimensions, proportions, whatever you want to call it. Most are too thick, and too big. The big watch era is over. And even if it isn't, Omega already has plenty of watches for those people.

I'm happy with the larger POs, but making them a bit slimmer would be nice. Especially for the winter months when coat sleeves can get in the way.

Even if the 45-46mm case days are over, it seems that the current trend is towards 40, 41mm cases. Rolex just came up to a 41mm case in the Sub in 2020 (I think) and just added a larger 40mm explorer, didn't they? Seems we're moving towards a 39mm-42mm average size being "the norm."

Agreed...
