Speedy Tuesday Jan 2 maybe? Omega needs to keep up the streak of the first Tuesday of every month.

I mentioned to two of the Omega corporate people at an event that the white dial makes the canopus less special, and they told me this new white dial speedy would be special. soo take that however you may like, but I assume it means some kind of limited run.

EDIT: everyone involved, myself included, had plenty of alcohol at this point soo yea could be entirely meaningless 😁

A platinum Sleedmaster with a fired enamel dial would certainly be special. Also unobtainable to mere mortals.

White dial full platinum Speedmaster with a 321 movement
Yeah, with Omega's recent history I don't think this watch will be a simple steel version with a white dial readily available at OBs and ADs everywhere. Look for a more upscale, premium product, maybe with the 321 which currently only has three versions. Let's see what 2024 brings.

I can’t imagine this is platinum. The band looks steel with the polished links. From a sheer revenue generating perspective, a white face steel speedy will sell like hotcakes. A platinum version won’t. Time will tell.

I've always loved Omega but I have to admit I'm losing interest fast.

lmao I wouldn’t go that far bud. Omega has released some weird stuff recently, and with horrendous pricing, but they’re still hitting their stride in other areas. The new speedy’s are perfect.

They need to redesign their main lineups and reduce their thicknesses. They need to upgrade with spirate and omega steel. They’re on the right track, but haven’t hit their stride yet.

And let’s reduce the variations.

I am waiting for the day they take their SMP and make it thin and elegant again. Otherwise I’ll just buy a neovintage 90’s one and call it a day.

I hope that day comes. Soon.

I’m in no rush. There are too many great watches out there already.

I imagine the experienced collector with perhaps a larger budget might not feel the same way.

I think its just gonna be a white speedy 3861 to go along side with normal sapphire speedy.

I agree that it looks like steel. I don't think they want to add any more 321 variants since those are already actually hard to produce.

I disagree that this will be a normal production model.

Good point on the 321. I think LE standard speedy sapphire sandwich.

can't we just have a Speedmaster with a white dial that the average person can purchase without having to be on a waiting list?

They don't make LEs (Limited Edition) anymore, now they make 'limited production' watches. That way they can make as many as they want for as long as they want to satisfy demand, and we'll never know how many they made of a particular design.
