Ok, it's official: Seiko has so many new releases that we can't keep up with individual threads. If you see something new and cool from Seiko, share it here!

I'm not sure I love the lug design (a thing that I'm usually very opinionated about), but I'm considering grabbing one of these when they go on sale.

I really love the humble heritage of the Seiko 5, and I'm glad to see them doing an accurate reproduction of the original.

Now that I've noticed that the lume on the lollipop hand on the regular contemporary Seiko 5 Sports watches is on the opposite end of the seconds hand that actually points at the seconds, I'm thinking I really like this retro look one....

Indeed, it is maddening once you notice it. And, the lack of a lume pip bothers me too. Yet, they have no problem fixing those issues on many of the LE models:

Shin Kamen Rider for anyone who loves Seiko and contemporary reboots of campy Japanese action heroes, complete with a lume pip and a sensible seconds hand:

Ok, I want to play. I don't own a Seiko or know much about them but this was a release that I really liked and still remember. I believe it was earlier this year. I bit pricey "for a Seiko" but not too crazy. I could definitely see myself with one of these in the collection. I think my favorite is the SPB253.

I think they are fun. Almost grabbed one last week:

For me, personally, I sometimes like have weird colorways of reissues. Feels less redundant when I pick up the real thing. That said, I'd try and grab these Seiko models used or on sale... MSRP on the SPBs seems a bit high for the quality.

I'm a fan of the blacked out look on pretty much anything. It's just too bad the 253 doesn't have that pop of red on the second hand. I think the 253 is my favorite case/lug shape. The other problem for me is I already have 2 divers and too many watches competing for wrist time. I'm just not sure any new divers would get any wrist time.

I didn't think to do a pre-order... Maybe I'll swing by a Seiko retailer this weekend to ask about that...

I did it over email, and I tried to pay a deposit but they didn't want one so the pessimist in me is making me think it will never materialize, however I was dealing with an actual person so fingers crossed.

You guys, you guys! There's a Seiko navigator 6117-8000 reissue coming in July/August. MSRP $1500. Also new colorways of the Seiko 5 GMT.

The AD wouldn't let me take a pic of their internal newsletter, but looked like some fun stuff.

I apparently just grabbed the last of five allocated to a shop near me. They say they should come in soon.

Also, splurged on a really dorky but fun LE Seiko 5 while I was there. I should have not tried to make friends with a Seiko AD. This is going to get expensive.

Seiko is showing off some new Presage models with lacquer dials. Not my cup of tea, but I'd be interested to see the dials in person.

Really nice piece, if anyone is looking for one in the UK, Lewins Jewellers still have them in stock at time of writing...
Edit - Lewins now sold out but i see them still available at Beaverbrooks...

Yeah, looks very accurate to the original:

Just funky enough to be fun and feel like something from the 60s/70s, without feeling dated.

The Original looks better.

This begs the question: can anyone think of a reissue that you would prefer over the original, if you could have it?

I've got a few reissues that I really enjoy for their own merits and for the peace of mind that I can jump in the ocean with them without worry.

In a few cases, I bought the original and liked it so much I bought the reissue for fun. Or, a couple of times, I bought the reissue while I was hunting down an elusive original in good shape.

But I think they all pale in comparison to the original.

For example:
