They have told you that you don't have it. If you did they would have taken it away from you.

Steve, take your conspiracy theory bullshit, and do one.

Why won't they release the serial number? It could help them eventually locate it if it were public knowledge.

Because, as what the watch should look like is well documented, down to the engravings on the watch, if the serial number was known it would be very very very easy to fake the watch. It also has the secondary purpose of making identification for a private sale impossible. Hence they have no need to release it. Basically the same theory that @Steve Morley has to not release the pictures of his watch. Which has been noted to have the wrong markings on it. His has a small "46" on the inside of the case.... which is very very wrong. Most likely a service mark, not NASA serial numbers.

@tyrantlizardrex has noted, they would have taken the watch from him if it had the correct serial number. There is no question, although it appears that Steve sued NASA to prove it was correct and they won the lawsuit that it was not correct.

@dsio @Trev, chaps... I'm not sure how having this nut job here is in any way beneficial to the forum, or the wider world in general.

Every time he writes this stuff down, the world becomes a slightly more stupid place.

Henrik, I appreciate your tone and request, although due to the sensitive nature of this matter. I have no intent to post photos. I have sent copy’s to Omega, and during the discovery phase of the Lawsuit to the Smithsonian, Aldrins attorney, and the United States Government did receive them. Thank you for your understanding. Regards, Steve
Pictures or it didn’t happen, mate...

Odd that’s not how it was described in court papers or by people that claim to have seen your watch....

Once again your information is wrong. It was clearly disclosed in discovery as hand. Engraved “S/N 43 SEBY” it was James Regan that stated “NASA never hand engraved the watches. Again he was correct, although he never went into what Morris in New York had done. They in fact had had engraved a few watches. Confirmed by Amanda Young (curator at the Smithsonian).

Don't think that the back and side of OP's watch look like the pics below (but for # 43) … he is trying (trolling ?) hard though.

He's been at this a looooooong time. He's retired, so maybe he doesn't have anything better to do.

Odd not a single other piece matches the engraving style of your watch...

You've had this watch for over 35 years. What makes you think today is the day you will prove it's Aldrin's? The nice thing to do would be to donate it to the Smithsonian. But at age 68, I suppose you are set in your ways and want your money, right?

I have actually heard elements of this story before from people including James Regan directly, as whenever someone claims to be in possession of a flown NASA owned watch he is still consulted by the government with regard to its authenticity. He was very confident in his record keeping and ability to determine if a watch is real or not, and if they didn't want or care about yours it is because they confirmed it to be non-authentic. You are not the only person claiming to own faux flown Speedmasters with funny engravings, just the most persistent, and you don't get points for that my friend.
