Well that was unexpected. But hey, good for you.
I'm actually a fan of the Model 3. I like the idea of it. Plus, those Dual Motor Performance ones are decently quick!
There was a guy who brought one to a PCA autoX that had a proper suspension (and tire) setup and he cleaned up! hah.
I would love to drive a modded one just to see.

You can also make the turn signal notification sound like flatulence.

So I take delivery of my Rivian on the 20th and still have an early Ineos reservation in the US... so one of them will most likely come up for sale.

Didn't @cvalue13 get a Rivian? Wonder how he's liking it.

So you decided against the Defender (I think that was what you were looking at)?

So... the expected Delivery of the Rivian was Jan of this year, which got updated to April of next year, and now I will be getting it in 5 long days...

The Defender.... So the dealership called me about 3 months after I placed the preorder in about April of 22 and told me my spot was open and to confirm my specs. I did that, and on the way home I got a text from my salesperson that they were adding 10k USD onto the price as a market adjustment. When setting the original deposit I had talked with the Sales Manager and while not in writing was assured and given a handshake that this would not happen, as I was concerned about this potentially happening.

Jag Land Rover was going through a somewhat bad time, they had been really hit with supply chain issues, and that was starting to let up and then Ukraine happened where ALL of their electrical harnesses were made. With the assumption that I was only 8 months out or so on the Rivian and a 2 month potential build time and shipment on the Defender I passed on the Defender. I was going to get mad at the dealer but at the end of the day they have alot of employees and were only able to get about 25 cars a month back then and they were the largest LR/Jag (and Aston Martin) dealer in the US, they needed that 10k and could get more profit then that if they did it in a profitable spec (mine was not). Getting mad and fighting was a lost cause as they could take my allocation and put 15k markup on a more profitable spec. After about an hour of me being furious I just realized that it would make no impact being mad, and take it as a sign to get the Rivian. It was a growth moment for me.

I also have a very early preorder for an Ineos as a backup in case the electric life does not speak to me.

That sounds like an ordeal but you've come out a better person.

That Defender was a beautiful vehicle, but so is the Rivian. With all the gas money you'll save, there could be a new watch in it for you to celebrate your better self.

First world problems I’ll admit. 😀
