I also needed a haircut before lockdown, now I need a hairmower, and the beard... 🤦

Negatives: All first world problems and in the grand scheme of things...
I was about to put my toy cars up for sale, they're now just sitting on the driveway
Our boiler went kaput so haven't seen a reduction in outgoings yet as others have mentioned
Trying to WFH is a pain when the teenagers are getting on top of one another
Can't get a home delivery of the weekly shop for love nor money so having to go out to the supermarket
DIY list from SWMBO (She who must be obeyed) is getting longer
As above, big hints to start a deep clean of the house

Positives:
No commute, getting out of bed over an hour later and home at once 👍
The garden is getting a lot more attention
Spending more time as a family... hang on... teenagers! Am I adding them in the right list considering they have now subscribed to every streaming service going... 😕
I'm fortunate to be in walking distance to my parents so able to pop round and also deliver any shopping they need (all keeping a suitable distance)
More time to drawl over pieces other OF members have incoming or for sale
SWMBO and myself are fortunate to still be working and bringing in our wages with so many being laid off or furloughed which is being reduced to 60%

I suspect a month ago I’d respond differently but ..... I’m really really really really getting sick of this. There are no silver linings when people are dying, the economy is getting hammered and society is fraying at the edges. This just sucks.

I agree there are no silver linings but I do believe we have to keep our spirits up.
As an o.a.p. living on pensions and investments I try not to worry as they are out of my control and I focus on the brighter things in life.

Spent the day gardening ... great therapy. Too tired to care!

Just planted some okra sets and various peppers.
We are behind you in the seasons, my peppers and tomatoes are a week or so away.
I am a salsa freak and love a blt.
Jetstar is my go-to tomato up here.

Only getting asparagus and greens right now but the strawberries look killer!
Covering up for a maybe frost but going full bore next week.

Served in the Army down south but okra and grits never did make it. I do love some bbq goat!
All the best, Bryan!

I’m a fairly solitary creature, and haven’t minded the quiet. My wife, she’s not enjoying it much

Negatives:
- stiff and sore from bad ergonomics in the “home office”

Positives:
- still have a job
- we’ve gotten better at meal planning and are wasting far less food that would sometimes get hidden for too long in the refrigerator’s crisper
- catching up on projects and hobbies

Don't tell me a high Creditcard Bill is something good for you? This means less Watches! That can't be good.😲

My job ended before the virus. Somewhat fortunately, the stimulus payment extends the time before I need to panic. The $600 a week federal enhancer for unemployment also extends the time before I need to panic.

Hopefully, a job in my narrow specialty will appear before the benefits run out.

Negatives:

1. Uncertainty regarding the future for my employer, a major U.S. airline.
2. All days are bad hair days.
3. Not being able to do my volunteer job at the local VA medical center.
4. Not being able to usher at or attend church.

Positives:

1. I still have a job.
2. I’ve been able to ride all of my racing and non-racing bicycles.
3. I’ve been able to do maintenance/modifications and play my old hand-held video game machines from the 1970s and 1980s...specifically, Mattel Electronics Auto Race [see avatar] and original Nintendo Game Boy with Tetris...with audio plugged into my old Bose portable speakers [see below]...

LATE ENTRY: One more “positive”...

4. I’ve been able to wear my birth year 1964 Echo Whiskey quite a little bit...

I only meant the two quoted issues 😁

I should add that because the day care institutions were closed for more than a month, we were forced to take care of our 2 1/4 year ourselves which meant that she got more attention than she used to and has become much more secure on her feet and now loves being outside, playing in the garden and so on.

Tomatoes are already in. Okra and peppers should have been three weeks ago, but aren't because I was lazy and didn't get "a round tuit."

Homeoffice means I have to travel less, and have more time overall.
My Creditcard Bill dropped by 95%.
I enjoy cooking more and find great pleasure in learning new things.

Doesn't sound so bad.
Yay! Glad to hear it!

We're pretty much doing the same thing as we did before the outbreak. Sweden.

If I'm gonna see one good thing in all of this it's gotta be the environment who getting an energy boost.. Pretty fantastic how quick we can see differences in nature and in the wildlife behaviour.

Have a great day

I had a grade school teacher that used to hand out round tuits 😀

Negatives:
1. No gym
2. Living alone so limited interactions (but I am independent anyway)
3. Miss coffee shops

Positives:
1. Time to cook
2. Good weather so exercising outside
3. Financially much better off, WFH so saving £500pm on expenses
4. Investments have mostly recovered

Took precautions many years back as I could see governments doing something like this, whilst everyone else was getting into debt and asleep.

The effects? Aside from the economy, the reality of losing folks and the fear that an this might be the last time you speak to an elderly family member.....that’s hard.

But taking a very inwards view WTF - will this mean for my continued employment, my ability to provide for my family, our health, and our ability to grow as a community.

add onto that the pressure of home schooling and the ‘simple’ things of merely buying groceries...

Tl😁r - mental health, for you, your families and friends

For me - the world has changed. We will need to also. I’m not certain what that means for us/me. But I am grateful for every day I get to share with friends and family.

But I am sick of WFH.

Positives:
1. Lower fuel prices for my 500 mile aggregate weekly commute
2. That commute is to a job I'm fortunate to have which falls into the transportation sector
3. Seeing people, families, spending more time outdoors and being healthier.

Negatives:
1. Politics
2. Economic downturn
3. Not being able to just pop in at a bar for a beer
4. Politics again
