Apart from some silver ( I prefer silver to grey) my hair is starting to look as it did fifty odd years ago and to be honest it probably wasn't a great look even then so desperate measures resulted in this purchase,

Daughters are now clamouring to be the first to give me the old short back and sides which is a bit of a worry but better than the braids they were hoping for ::facepalm2::

Anyone else wan't to share ?

    Negatives of lockdown
    - wife has already cut my hair once and it already needs doing again.
    - Household has taken a 60% pay cut
    - Can’t drive my Porsche.
    - Can’t get my Speedy and Seamaster serviced.

    positives of lockdown
    - Spending loads of time with the kids and wife
    - Credit card bill this month was much less than 1% of what it usually is.
    - All my close family are healthy
    - My daughters aren’t yet old enough to cut my hair.

Positives massively outweighing the first world problem negatives for me personally.

    Negatives:
I don't see the family that lives far away.
I can't hangout with friends much.
    My Gym is closed.
    No Watchevents.

    Positive:
Lots of time with the Girlfriend.
Homeoffice means I have to travel less, and have more time overall.
My Creditcard Bill dropped by 95%.
I enjoy cooking more and find great pleasure in learning new things.

    Doesn't sound so bad.

    Negatives:
-I haven't bothered with a haircut since sometime back in March.
-Both sons as well as grand kids require road trips or flying so feel isolated from them.
-Had planned a quick trip to the UK to see friends in Yorkshire and that got derailed by the virus.
-Have long since "overdosed" on anything virus related in the news.

    Positives
-Finances are sound and am not personally affected (yet).
-Mrs. noelekal is working from her newly created home office and I enjoy her daily company.
-We're spending almost nothing in fuel costs as we don't run our vehicles.
-I'm a curmudgeonly sort who values solitude so don't much miss socializing.
-I get to read more books, listen to more music, pursue hobbies and interests.
-Chores and stuff around the house are getting done.

In one week (this week) I have done three things I've never done before: baked bread, colored my wife's hair, and let my wife cut my hair. All in all, I think we're better for it.

My wife cut my hair on Saturday, after two weeks of nagging her to please just do it. It looks as good as it ever has. I would post a pic, but you probably don't need to see my ugly mug (again) here on the net/forum. We are both "essential" employees here in the U.S. and still work fulltime. Our 15 year old, as of yesterday, is home alone a lot more now. I worry about her. Because we had her late in life, both of us in our 40's, she had been sheltered before this. In a way, I can see it being good for her, allows her to mature, but I know she misses school, her friends and the activities. We have done a few family birthday parties at the bottom of driveways and keeping 6 ft apart and masked. This isn't good for families, other than you do get some extra time with your immediate family. I am not even sure why I am rambling on, is this even what the thread is about....if I am off the tracks, I do apologize. Be safe, everyone.....if this forum lost any of the constant posters, I would feel like I lost a friend.

    My steps for a haircut:
    1. Put on No. 1 fence.
    2. Cut until hair stops falling.
    3. Remove guard and trim neck.
    4. Get wife to inspect for missed spots (about 60% failure rate [that's 60% of the haircuts, not 60% of the hair!]).
    5. Remember to replace No. 1 fence.
    6. Trim missed spots.

I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten step 5 and had to redo the entire cut with no guard. ::shy::

In the UK we are only allowed to drive on essential journeys. The only essential journey I’ve done in 6 weeks is to the supermarket 3 miles away. Not worth taxing and MOT’ing it for this.

    Negatives :
Hair/beard - turned all mirrors to the wall & ignore fearful looks from shoppers (once every couple of weeks).
The chores list has become my daily ‘encouragement’ from lottery girl.
No visits to the pub...no draught beer.
Not able to hug my grandchildren.

    Positives:
The homemade sourdough starter I have been promising for 4 years is now flying. Boris (blond and full of gas) has had a son (given to a mate) who has passed on to a friend of his, so 3 generations in a couple of months and great bread spreading through my village.
Garden looking better than ever before.
Time to exercise more means losing some weight.
Appreciating every day, you never know. My dad had heart problems and always use to smile and say “another day and I’m still here“ I have gained a little more understanding of what he meant.

I needed a haircut before this mess came about. My wife wants to cut my hair but I’m not feeling that I saw what she did to my mother in-laws hair. My job involves working with people who took a hit from this virus, mental health and homeless facilities get crowded in a bad economy I’m working more now than before the shut down and in this case I won’t say I’m happy business is good. We have a long waiting list.

My wife got furloughed for two months but is getting 80% of her pay so we aren’t bitching about that knowing how others are being hit by this. I’m glad many here are still doing well because I’m seeing a lot of people who aren’t and it’s quite sad.

I suspect a month ago I’d respond differently but ..... I’m really really really really getting sick of this. There are no silver linings when people are dying, the economy is getting hammered and society is fraying at the edges. This just sucks.
