Little confusion on my new Pie Pan crosshair

Hello everybody,

I just bought a pie pan 168.004, cal. 561 even if I don't like the crosshair, but the price was quite good. The seller told me that everything was original except the glass. It passes the MOY test, even though the Omega logo is a little off, which is not unusual as I learned, but I would rather have it centered than passing the MOY test. That's why I don't like the crosshair. What confuses me a little bit, is that there are no lines drawn between the minute indices. Is that normal for that model or does it indicate a fake? In which case I would return the watch although I love the size of 36 mm, since I am a tall guy. Or is this size an indicator for a fake as well? My other "normal" constellation is 35mm. What do you think? Thank you very much!

Could you explain what you mean about the lines between the minute markers? Everything looks good from where I am sitting 馃榾

Thank you so much for your fast and pleasant answer. I meant between the hour indices. Sorry but the mistake

Still not completely sure what you mean, but that is not important - I am sure that everything is good. Onyx inserts on the markers are great, get that crystal cleaned! 馃榿

Mh, I鈥檓 still not sure what line you鈥檙e missing between the indices. Looks absolutely fine to me, I鈥檓 curious though - would you have a picture of the lines you鈥檙e referring to for comparison?

If you mean a line around the edge where the flat, inner part of the dial falls of: There shouldn鈥檛 be one.

Anyway, nice watch - congrats. 馃榾

/edit: I was too slow there

Ahhh...

That's not a printed line, but a dial with a pie-pan version that has a more abrupt edge to the sides of the pie pan - most likely this is a ref. 168.010. On most 168.004s it is nearly impossible to tell that there is an edge at all.

Very hard to interpret the question even after multiple attempts. Do you think he is referring to the fact that the printed markers at the same location as the applied markers are very stubby?

That's it, but unfortunately I like the more abrupt edge more, it took me an hour, to figure out what confused me... So maybe I sell this one and get one with sharper edges in the pie pan... Is 36mm hard to get? This was just a happy coincident, I didn't know the size before I got it... And is there any threat already on how to clean the crystal? Thank you very much to all!

I think maybe the OP watch is not a pie-pan.

Actually I own a 168.010 as well and the dial has a kind of pie pan dial as well...

Now I am confused, even more

It seems to me to be a dome-shaped dial that is painted to give the illusion of the faceted pie-pan shape.

So you think it's a repaint?

No, not at all. The dial looks great. I think that's the style.

Ok, glad to hear that, but I still kinda like the sharp edged version a lot better

It鈥檚 genuine and it鈥檚 a pie pan. Certainly not a dome dial. The medallion shows more wear than I would like, but that鈥檚 the only fault I see. Otherwise, nice watch.
