    Hi guys,

I took a punt on this pie pan, the photos were bad but I took a risk as I've always loved crosshair dials (criticism of risk accepted), it arrived today the lettering on the dial looked fine to my eye, the case edges are sharp, the crystal is original (and scratched up) and the medallion on the back is in good condition.

My only concern is with the minute markers looking a little funny, I've seen some variance on this on a dial by dial basis, but between 10 and 12 the spacing from the edge looked large.

Luckily I am able to return the watch if there's anything wrong. What are people's thoughts, is this a redial?

The crosshair is a bit off the tip of the star, too...... or is that compression/parallax?

The minute marks as you mention are a little wonky with their spacing.

It's probably a fraction off centre, but I have seen that on legit dials.

Looks mighty fine with my old eyes. Redialed cross hairs are normally thicker than this.

Need the real experts to chime in though

Looks good to me, the crystal looks shot which is giving a lot of distortion to the dial.

Possibly distortion or maybe QC issues back in the day.
Whatever the reason it does look legit.

Next to my pretty good condition pie pan they're near identical, I think that's a lighting issue. IMG_20180704_155938.jpg

Dial looks ok to me, but the bezel looks odd to me (aside from the gunk).

The stars are sometimes slightly misaligned.

    Dial looks fine to me.

It looks so ‘flat’ in those pics. And I sort of miss the bevel with an angle to it... it just has a square drop.

Maybe I’m wrong because the pic is distorted, but it’s in all the pics.

I see your point, but there's plenty of the stainless steel versions floating about that appear to have this flatter bezel.

See one sold on forums here:

Maybe there’s bezel variation. The watch doesn’t look like a prime candidate for having parts swapped.

Edit: my SS ref. 14900 had the bezel bevel.

Well, I’ve learned that Omega used several independent case manufacturers for these dog legs cases (and between them I’ve spotted slightly different lines), so I reckon this is one of the slight differences between them.

This watch will clean up (litterally) nicely.

I'm not an expert on Constellation Pie Pan, but the imperfections that there are in this dial would make me say it's a bad redial on any other watch.
