Waltham big silver pocket watch arrived. It’s a Model 1877, different than what I thought. But it’s nice and fat and heavy, few hairlines but in really good shape for watch from 1880s and running well keeping time.
So it’s a keeper!

Nice, I’d like to get a key wind pocket watch some day

Since other items than watches are allowed, yesterday evening this (still not drunk, condition no. 5). For a really nice price (<500€).

I have doubts that the case is original to the movement, but I nevertheless like it, in particular the movement/dial with four hands from the center. The movement should be around 1820. Now the transportation needs to be resolved (luckily just 100 km away), then the movement first needs a service and maybe some repair (although it is said to work as it should), and finally the clock will need a place. I should refrain from going further into longcase clocks, I already have a nice and fully authentic Scottish clock from about 1760 ...

Cheers, Bernhard

Tonight:
Zero to 3 Polerouter's in 90 days.
Universal Geneve Polerouter 204503/2
Purchased on Instagram from a seller I haven't personally dealt with. Seems legit. Paypal G&S was method. Watch located in Switzerland. All original except crystal. Fingers crossed!
Prettiest Polerouter I’ve seen. Has it arrived?

One late night drinking with my brother I ended up talking him into selling me his 2008 BMW 650i convertible at a great price.

Let us know 😵‍💫

Arrived today and pretty much exactly as I'd hoped. Dial is a great gray fume with a hammered texture. Need a couple of bracelet extenders, but not to shabby for $50 all in.

Is 10pm late night? This was definitely an impulse buy. My friend sent me a link to an Omega GSTP military pocket watch and said it was a little high of a price. I sent the link to @SkunkPrince and he said not once, but twice, if I didn't buy it that he would. You know I had to do it then. No movement pics but claimed a service was done.

This will be either really good or really bad. 😀 Just short of $900 shipped from Argentina to USA.

That Constellation turned out really bad. My watchmaker said it was a disaster inside and that it wasn't worth repairing.

I'm sending it back.

Hey if you and some other members like those small vintage lady's style watches we usually see boxes of them for cheap at local flea markets here in south west Florida and some are pretty good brands. Maybe we need to post a package deal of them for super cheap? 😁

After a lengthy shipping delay it has just arrived. This is absolutely stunning and in mint condition in person. There are zero flaws on the beautiful gilt dial and the lume is bright orange all around. I also happen to have a lead for the original crystal. Impulse buy turns into one of my best acquisitions of all time.🥰

That's a handsome watch. Are we going to see a family photo?

Gorgeous watch, though I believe someone polished the case back with that horizontal brushed pattern—can’t imagine why. The case back should be shiny. I wouldn’t sweat it though!

Becuase they heard polishing was bad but brushing is fair game.

I noticed this too but it is still very sharp with all lettering well outlined

Agreed. It’s like when I bought my house and they had “freshened up” everything with a nice coat of white paint…on the brass door handles and the brass hinges and the lock plates and the light switches…I would have paid them more just to leave it alone.

It actually kind of looks like an amateur took steel wool to it. Maybe some day you will find a replacement case back. Thank goodness they did not do the same to the rest of the case!

Hahaha if I was anal about that maybe but it really isn't as prominent in hand at all. Also it sits on my wrist! I'll just save the money to buy an all gold Polerouter instead 😜
