Nearly midnight here and I have “it’s Monday tomorrow and back to work blues”. Just about to head off to bed, saw this, made an offer and now I’m waiting for it to arrive (buying decision was maybe helped by most of a bottle of a nice California red)

Impulse (but not really late night.)

Had a hard time finding this thread.

21 watches for 19.99 plus S&H. I think there is a Seiko 5 in there. And hopefully some more A Schild watches. (I just got two more Schilds from Goodwill, and have another Helbros invincabale on the way.) So that is like 25 watches this week!

Sadly I lost out on the auction for a case for my 351 movement. Another case came up but I got outbid on that one as well. The watch gods are weird. Funny how from a distance the 2577 looks much the same as these generic 1950s watches. And I do have the 2576 twins.

Ever since I sold a bunch of random Seiko parts I have been looking for a complete Seiko. Will be interesting what I get.

I think this works out to 2 bucks a watch. Now I really need to get those templates for strap making done ...

That’s an eclectic collection 😀

That was fast!
I am still waiting for the goodwill Helbros I ordered two weeks ago.

21 watches and four AS 1194 mainsprings from another seller. Which I ordered the same day. Only one of these has the A Schild bridge layout. I could not wait to pop the back off.
While this was from eBay it has the look of a charity shop lot. Could be from a small independent shop. At around 3 bucks a watch with S&H I am pretty happy.
The blurry watch in the corner is a Seiko 5. And it started ticking. This fills in a gap in my collection. I sold off my random Seiko parts on ebay. Much easier to work with a complete watch. Crystal is bunged up.
Curiously (Blame the watch gods.) There is a Helbros invincible in this collection which is the same watch I ordered from goodwill. Although the Goodwill watch has the "Back to the future." dial layout. Now I have one for each wrist. Just like Doc Brown. Several of these watches have that style even number design as well. But not sub seconds and a date window, which is somewhat rare.

Two of the Seikos are Quartz. One is an alarm chronograph with an inset LCD display. Could be a fun project. The other Quartz Seiko is interesting in that the date wheel is printed to look like an LCD display. Just as impossible to read.

Not sure when I will get to these distractions. I have two more watches expected in the next few days. Not to mention the watches I already have. (One of which is photographed on my wrist.) The mainsprings are for the Schild watches as the old 1940s springs are a bit tired.

Edit: I got the buckles at the hardware store today as I still intend to see if I can make straps for these from the pipe organ leather.

Teaser for this weeks impulse watch. Hint collecting ephemera (even Digital ephemera) can be dangerous. Now I just have to wait for it to arrive ...

We do need a Tissot forum.
