Waltham Model 1884 18s coin silver case. I already have 4 of them Sucker for the big heavy coin silver case. Evidence of fulfilling criteria 5 as well.

Not a late night buy but early morning about 4:30am.

Saw this eBay sale listing with a $650 BIN price. Obviously the seller didn’t know what he had.

Sellers photo not a Speedmaster Reduced.

Fingers crossed until it arrived.

Turned out to be a beautiful -78!! Sent off for a service and now it’s my favorite daily wearer.

Late night winner for sure.

nobody said it has to be a watch ...

Okay, then I can throw in this. Caspar Netscher (attributed). I still need to find a proper place for it.It would need a good clean, but I will probably leave it like it is for the time being.

I call dibs on that! love it,

Be interesting to see what a clean will reveal in the background.

I bought this on a late night impulse at auction.
Looks to be late 1800 but cant find the artists Bio any where.

i found this on O.J. Clark who looks to be your artist:

Clark was an English Landscape painter during the 19th century and specialised in woodland and rural scenes. He travelled throughout England and Scotland earning a living by painting commissions

Two nights ago this one (not having fulfilled the condition no. 5, above) 😁 . I should quit looking at eBay, I could not resist (once again). The Universal microrotor is second to none, compared with contemporary calibres and nicely decorated additionally. And just look at this microregulator.

It has arrived this morning and I love it in real even more, amplitude about 300° (estimated, to be confirmed on the timer), microrotor without slack, gained 0-1 seconds in the last 3 hours (measured against a Junghans Mega 1 wristwatch), and a like new apprearance. Perhaps a redial, but I had assumed this anyway. I will definitely not return this, it will rather become a daily for some time.

Here is a scan (I have no smart phone and camera is at home), shades are scan artefacts, the dial does not have any shades, it is mint.

Condition 4 met 😁.

Cheers, Bernhard

This will be either really good or really bad. 😀 Just short of $900 shipped from Argentina to USA.

Why this (the second alternative)?
Pictures aren't all that great... but I usually have gotten better rather than worse, so I'm optimistic.

What kind of bracelet was on it? The center links look odd.

Looks a bit sixties Seiko to me but it doesn't look like the outers were originally with the centres.

I am Argentina EBay-phobic with no reason at all so I really hope you can blast through my anxieties.

Thanks for that, had all but given up finding out anything about it. The artists signature much like doctors hand writing was leading me astray as to the name.
Had little luck when I approached Bonham's and Christie's as to info or value but now I can research anew

No problem! I like internet rabbit hunts. Focused on O.J, since those were the only letters I could make out with confidence. I think I saw a couple of couple sales in the 6-8k range. Good luck!

Well I guess looking at signature comparison's I would say you are right on the money with the name.

Probably I should now move it from it's spot placed uncomfortable close to my washing machine lid in the laundry 🙄.

Bought it in a lot of other more contemporary artworks and photos but this one was my reason for purchase.

I guess my $NZ22.00 bid has more than paid off.

Still have 2 other oils from the same auction lot to value.

Really, this box is awesome and I love the projects and straps added in for good measure. Totally unexpected.

You like projects? Send me a message and I will hook you up with some good stuff, not that flea market crap JDubya screwed you with 😁

I dunno, that Elgin and Invicta are pretty tip top ... though the Wakmann and Rooskie watch were a nifty pair.

Seastar has arrived! It's quite nice, especially when dressed up with a Forstner BOR. Case is pretty sharp and the markers have a lovely "brushed" finishing 😀

Waltham big silver pocket watch arrived. It’s a Model 1877, different than what I thought. But it’s nice and fat and heavy, few hairlines but in really good shape for watch from 1880s and running well keeping time.
So it’s a keeper!
