From what I know you are way off mark. With or without card Omega may track any watch to which AD or OB was it delivered initially. And as I said before, in EU for example is illegal to sell consumer goods without warranty so an AD or OB may not sell it to anyone without warranty. So assume these are two facts and they are. So whats the point for Joma to sell the watch without the warranty card? In many cases they sell over 50 to a 100 bucks? They would intentionally lower the price by 10 to 15% as someone above here suggested? I am not affiliated with neither Joma nor any other grey dealer but that is unlikely case as it contradicts all interests.
A dealer can legally sell it without warranty or cards to another dealer ie Joma but not an end user. In any case Joma may be sourcing from anywhere in the world. As Kov said Omega can in fact trace the AD using the number. As long as Joma offer a warranty they can sell into Europe legally. Problem is to use the warranty you need to send or take the watch back to the US. Joma used to match the duration of the manufacturer warranty, not sure if that is the case here. Good luck getting your watch back through customs without paying VAT twice if you do need to send it to the USA for repair. Joma really works best for domestic customers.

Why do Joma do it? Well if they can buy it at 35-45% under list and sell it at 15% under list it makes for good business.

It;s still over the UK rrp when the 20% duty is factored in and not that good a deal if the watch develops a problem and the hassle from customs sending it back.

I quite agree but that won’t matter. Now it’s discounted in the world’s biggest market the overs being paid will dry up. Joma are the kiss of death for residual value. I am no fan of Joma for the very reason you state and would only ever go grey market if the full Omega warranty were provided like the Euro greys provide.

This is interesting. I hardly can imagine an AD having that much discount from Omega to allow 35-45% to Joma, on a LE. Or maybe the rules are different for a limited edition of almost 7000 pces 😁

BTW, even if Joma sold it at cost, it's already worth the move considering the traffic and the noise it has generated. 👍

I'm not sure it will even dent the price in the long term. Earlier I questioned the US rrp on this watch and then checked the Omega usa website and the rrp of $9650 is actually correct, but it's perhaps how American's like to buy things, high rrp and prefer to be fooled by a false generous discount.

Somebody snagged their stock 🍿 great deal ! 🤦
I suppose it’s quite possible they only had one in which case it may not make that big an impact in actual sales but it’ll knock speculator confidence if that cut price listing remains up and many watches may now go uncollected, particularly by those who just wanted a quick flip buck.

Picture it, you buy into the media hype that this is the most significant watch ever made, you get the call from your dealer saying you’re in luck and yours is waiting, you absent mindedly browse Joma for an hour and suddenly you feel you are paying nearly two thousand bucks over the top for a watch you aren’t really sure you want to keep. The result, you don’t collect and within a month these start showing up in dealer windows.

As many have said all along, buy it because you like it (or don’t because you don’t) and not because you assume it the golden ticket to riches. Prices will only go one way now.

your first paragraph echoes my thinking exactly... either the AD who sold it got it at a big discount, or he couldn't shift his inventory... Or Jomashop sold at a loss for marketing purposes. In any case, this is not taz-approved.

Yes they will go up, prices may fluctuate for a while but in the end and over time this watch will increase in value over time.

And yet you have flipped 2 already. Sounds like a pretty dumb move if it’s a dead cert to go up like you say.

I'm not sure it was a dumb move at all, in all transactions you should be clear about what you are looking to achieve, my goal was a short term profit and that's what I got to the tune of £4k.

I find it unbelievable so early in the game to sell the watch for under retail, they would have found somebody to pay list price easily IMHO. I would think this to happen when it's sitting at AD's after all had been delivered like the A17 40th SS is still available. Looking at chrono24 reservations (which I don't know whether these have turned into sales) on the 50th at marked up prices people are willing to pay over retail.

Well, done with the wait and saving money with Jomashop - but 17% off plus taxes is money that can be use elsewhere.
Will still hold allocation.

Interesting to see how many is Jomashop really able to issue? 1 piece, 10 pieces, 100 pieces ? Or none and this is purely a gimmicky stunt to draw crowds to its website given there are sizeable lookers as evident on other websites. Counting your watches before they are delivered can lead to disappointment

I agree, until I don’t see any real proof of an actual sale it’s just a gimmick to me.

Not surprised by this at all. There are a lot of these watches out there, flippers grabbed too many of them. Legit buyers are starting to get tired of waiting. Omega gives you a 3 year warranty on the piece right? So that's definitely worth something above and beyond a 1 year Jomashop warrranty. W.r.t. the warranty card missing, speaking only for myself, its the least valuable part of a complete package to me and If I could save $1500, yeah, I think I could live without a card and a year or two factory warrranty as the cost difference pays for a couple of additional services. I want to have the inner box most of all, and any COA, from there I want an original receipt of purchase as that helps tell a story as I hope any modern watch I buy will eventually become a vintage watch with an interesting story behind it. Hang tags are cool, and lastly the pictogram and warranty cards and the sleeve they come in. But that's just me. I expect to see more of these show up on Grey market, although I don't expect they will fall much below this price, i think this is the bottom.

I agree with you 100%, though I’ve heard purchases from an OB won’t allow you to keep the hang tag. Something about them referencing the item sale to corporate (?)

I didn't have a problem in getting the hangs tags with either of mine.

Yes you are correct -- that is exactly how we Americans like to buy things. We even have special meetings where we all gather round and try to convince manufacturers to raise their MSRPs so we can feel like we are getting better deals. And when we succeed we all give each other high-fives and blow air kisses.

Sorry to say but I basically dont like the watch and dont see the point to buy a watch as an investement. For that price I prefer a vintage Model with some history and story behind it, I would never buy a watch to park it for 20 years in a safe and hope to gain money
