People that have them are not selling. Not a well known variant so not a huge amount of buzz when they sell. They also look like the German Speedy from 1980. Most that want the Gold want a showy yellow Gold.

Plus that dial was available for normal watches but rare, and available from Omega up until recently as a part.

Unless I got it backwards with another one.

I love this model. I bought the leather strap version a year ago. I'd love to have the bracelet as well, but they are very heavy and will scratch up quickly. On about half the ones I've seen the dial starts to develop faded brown areas. If you want one, I think you will be hard pressed to find a better price than this at this point:

Buy it before I do! I have been giving it some thought...

I had a chance at one, but let it slip me by... tough choice between this and a 2998 for about the same price... but I'm OK with how it worked out. Still admire them though. Love the stealthy aspect of white gold tool watch. :D

Right?!?! Someone started a thread earlier this week about a metallic dial speedy on yahoo!japan auctions. Japan specific online auctions were not on my radar

Asking a question right after an answer. I like your style.

Meanwhile, I'm having the hardest time finding the Apollo-Soyuz Speedy. No, not the one with the meteorite dial but the one with the red/blue logo on the dial.

    I NEED IT SO BADLLLLLLLYYYYYY

have one on leather - the bracelet is available at a whopping 7k from Omega... Would love to have the bracelet, too! Funky box as well, had an option to buy one with the bracelet but sans box/papers, so did let it go...

I've never bought from there. It's a big marketplace. I'd imagine if you have an issue with the watch when it shows up, it will be very difficult to deal with

It is actually platinum and yes it was available on a platinum bracelet, would be mighty heavy.
