·If there was time for constant, prompt communication from a seller while he's trying to set the hook, there should be constant, prompt communication after the fact till buyer receives the goods and is satisfied.

·Such things can cost a lot of nerves. I would give him until tomorrow (friday), and then inform him that I am retrieving my money back and then get my money back. If he still does not react, I would make his identity public here in OF.

·Normally I would agree that a response time should be very short, but I was asked a question on Sunday morning about an item I'm selling. I responded within 10 minutes. The questioner, who is also a Mod here, didn't reply until yesterday PM. By my math, that's nearly 4 days.

·I always rate a seller based on their communication and punctuality after payment has been made. In my experience the majority are very prompt indeed at answering emails and messages pre-payment, it's generally only the good guys who continue on with this level of attentiveness after the money is in.
When selling myself I will keep the buyer updated daily throughout the process until I have given them the tracking information, even if it is only a quick message to say that the BT has not yet cleared at my end.

·Only one thing from the weekend marked as OHPF so IF that is the watch being talked about it then maybe it is still awaiting money clearance. Bank holiday on Monday just gone in a few places.

·What would you do if you completed the payment 4 days ago for an item and you've gotten no response/communication with the seller since then- despite lots of PM's and a couple of emails.
I did a research and he seemed to be a decent seller. Guidance anyone? I also saw that he was on the forum yesterday at 7:35 am.

Agree. I bought a watch from someone on a continent an ocean away, paid by bank transfer, and he was tracking the FedEx shipping details far more frequently than I was and updating me by email as to where the watch had got to. OTOH I was used to FedEx's high speed drive-by "delivery" attempts and expected to go to their nearest (not very near) depot and pick up myself.
That was a deal through Chronotrader. It's not all the Wild West there, there are some decent sellers.

-the seller finally responded yesterday saying that he was sick and finally managed to go to his shop whatever that meant
- with the OF browsing, he said it could be his wife as he left his PC on
-promised to pack the item carefully and ship quickly but added that DHL picks up/ships just 2 days a week from where he is from-Vietnam
apology again for the delayed response but @ Shabbaz, i don't sit in front of my laptop every minute of the day. I have to food shop and cook for the family dude(lol).

·A lot hinges on what completed payment means. As there is a lag for payment to be credited to seller’s account depending on the mode of payment.
But four days to respond to message does appear to be long. Assuming the message did get to the seller. Depending on mode of communication, the message might not have reached the seller.
Personally, two to three days from confirmation that payment received, i expect some movement and/or feedback.
