·Again my only nod is the difference in thickness but it can be the picture, and even more probably my eye vision this morning!
That said, if you like the watch, if the movement is in good condition, then enjoy it for many years to come. Full redial? Partial redial? ... Nobody on the street will notice it tbh
And about the self-esteem of having done a good transaction, don't worry too much about that. I believe many of us have done mistakes as vintage watches are tricky... But it is also its charm, the investigation, the discussions, the finding sharing etc.

·I like the watch and the crown. I think it is all good. If it is a redial it is an exceptionally good one. Your watchmaker's dismissal of it as a clumsy redial is bizarre.

·At the very least your watchmaker says it’s a “bad“ redial and yet all these very experienced collectors are struggling to tell if it is a redial at all. If it was a “bad“ redial then at least the members here would be able to say with some confidence that it was a redial.
So if your guy is wrong in that it’s not a “bad“ redial, there’s a good chance he’s wrong altogether and it’s not a redial at all.
So far I’ve never seen on here a redial where the script is too thin, and yours doesn’t look too thin anyway.
Also, I must say your watch looks really lovely and I would wear it and enjoy it.

·I asses the watch as genuine. The overall impression and the script seems to be as correct as it gets. Maybe, and I say just maybe, has the the dial been slightly cleaned. All lume looks ok. A fine watch in my opinion.

Secondly, not related to the dial, is the bezel cracked? If so, is your famous watchmaker going to repair this?

·Given the mild degradation of the dial, it fits that there might be some degradation of the script as well. This all contributes to the assessment that the dial is original. If it was repainted, it would have been a long time ago, and I’ve never seen a historic redial look this good. I concur with @Shabbaz. If this is a redial, I’ll eat every shoe in my house

·I'm not seeing anything from the photos that would lead me to conclude that it's a re-dial, although I do think that the lume may have been replaced. Obviously your watchmaker had the advantage of seeing it in person, and perhaps he removed the crystal and looked at the back of the dial, which can provide additional information.
