Is this a record for the DON bezel?

no, there seems to be some issue with the Global Shipping Program. Seller is trying to work it out with Customer Service. Anyone have any experience with this?
And...while the seller is trying to work it out, he relisted it as a BIN? Nice guy.

That's what CS told him to do but somehow it got listed for U.K. Shipping only...hence the "working out"

I'm not a fan of the GSP, at all. I've paid more through the GSP program with some items than i ever have when declaring and paying the normal duties. I assume it's the fees for the convenience of the program....

Holy moly, 4K. 2017 is bringing with it some new levels for Speedies. That's 3/4 the value of my 145.022-68

Yeah, I have been looking online and it seems that a lot of people look at this as a rip-off so perhaps it is good that it didn't work and we can just go through the normal route.

It is. If I see anything shipped by the GSP I ignore it.

Oops. Ignore my post, I didn't read the post earlier that it was relisted. Carry on.

And its over 10% more than I paid for my second 105.003, a '65, less than 4 years ago. And which came with a very nice, though not mint, DON bezel insert and a very nice 1039 with genuine no.6 end links...

Sad really, as the recent price movements have curtailed my 'dabbling' with vintage Omega's, haven't bought one for almost 2 years now. Can only be grateful that I went a bit mad with them a few years back.

Hi All,

I'm the seller of the bezel, enjoying the spotlight & having a good laugh at the comments 😀

First of all, congratulations to sirish19!
The bezel really is beautiful and is a rare find in this condition, and I believe that this record sale is still just the beginning of prices going through the roof in the future. So it's a great investment as well.

I have to admit, my heart skipped a beat when I saw the zero feedbacks, but then we got in touch and I got assured that he is a genuine buyer.

Ebay admitted to a technical problem with the Global Shipping Programme from their side, and advised me to relist with Buy it now, which still didn't work properly, so I ended it quickly.
I am now looking into alternative postage & insurance options, not giving up! 😀
Also most likely will be ditching GSP in the future, which has caused me nothing but headache so far.

I can't wait to see the bezel on the watch, I think I'm saying on everyone's behalf here to hope to see a picture here once it's arrived to it's new home 😀

Also, as long as it's ok with the buyer, I will be sharing the rather funny story of the bezel. So keep an eye out!

Lev

Congratulations to both buyer and seller - great to see both of you here 😀

Very happy to see a seller ditching the GSP, which, for me means an instant no-go for items I like. I realise that it makes life easier for sellers, but as a buyer it is horrendous.

yes, and thanks. I have been waiting for a near perfect example for my transitional and this has been the best I have seen. Sorry to have priced these to a new level but I needed that bezel. 😎

Thank you for your efforts and the other side effects on the price's in the future.

Market forces. Someones wants it and is ready to pay for it. For once, no speculation, just genuine supply-and-demand dynamics. 😵‍💫

(notwitstanding any shill bidding practices... still, the buyer was ok to pay for it)
