I have a big milestone coming up. 5960 will (probly) be it.
At this point, it’s a coin toss between gray and blue dial.
I can’t help but wondering, is there another PP in this bracket I haven’t considered?
The Aquanaut 5164 is great, but it’s now crept up bracket to 5960P.
I find 5960 to be more versatile for sport and dress, especially the gray dial.

anyone else loosing sleep over Patek?
(I know, sometimes I wondered why no one punched me in the face yet)

For my money: there is no better PP, period, than the 5960, though I prefer the white dial + steel case. Regardless: congrats on the milestone, and absolutely get one of these on yr wrist.

I got to try on a 5960 not long before I moved out of L.A. - the grey dial is an absolute heart-breaker, IMHO.

    Congrats whichever way you go!

Blue dial, personally, but can’t see a bad choice between them. Good luck!

Gee what a wonderful looking watch. That would be quite a nice, well beyond nice, acquisition. Purely going by the aesthetics I like the blue a little better but damn either one is a stunner. Kind of like you can’t make a wrong choice. They look like a nice size, may I inquire if you know the case size? I could look it up but I fear getting hit with watch envy.

don’t look it up Wally, I don’t need another competitor.
    I believe it’s 40.5mm case.

    Gray dial is classier.

love this piece. blue dial is sportier, and grey dial a bit more svelte, as you probably already know.

I'd personally go blue dial, I think it's just a little more interesting than the grey or white. The red really pops!

If you like this case and dial design, have you considered seriously the 5205 in blue?

Obviously not a chronograph, but I think it's the piece I would personally go for in this rough price bracket for a patek!

5205 is a beauty, but the chrono stack on 5960 is so unique.
My dealer is coming down in price for gray 5960P, although I think the blue dial is most attractive, in photos. (I haven’t seen blue in person).
Chances are if I opted to wait to (hopefully) see both, gray will be gone in a few days. Good chance I will never see both together.

Blue dial, red chrono hands make a sporty combo. Me likey very much.
When I strapped on the gray, it’s gorgeous in person.

Damn, that looks nice. The gray dial speaks to me a bit more. Slightly classier and more versatile looking . The blue one is not bad at all too.

I think i like the grey dial just a bit more. It will prove timeless, whereas the blue may be a bit shouty in the long run. And you know what, the blue numerals on the chrono counter will make for a great pairing with a blue alligator strap, if you’re in the mood for blue.

Have you tried it on? I like the aesthetics of the 5960 but found it was quite thick and pretty top heavy. It was a bit uncomfortable for me.

That's an absolute beauty. I own one PP, a Calatrava as per the below. The above is more money than I'd be comfortable with for a single watch, but what a stunning piece.

3445's are an awesome classic PP. Had a white gold one ages ago and sold it: huge regret.

40mm right around my sweet spot. Precious metal is heavier, but i don’t find it heavy. Given the annual, chrono in an automatic, that’s a lot of goodies in a 40.5mm case

that bracelet is incredible. I’d love to see them bring back that style of bracelet in a contemporary presentation.

It feels like carrying around Fort Knox on your wrist. Honestly, this watch was a ludicrous bargain in my eyes. At the time of purchase about a year ago, the gold value alone in this watch was ~75% of the price. Which seemed absolutely insane for the amount of watch that was coming alongside this. Of course, something similar in steel would be worth a lot more given the relative demand, but I adore gold watches.

Here's some more bracelet porn for you...

    And if that's made you a little frisky... Here's a little movement-titillation...

I can’t even imagine how they make a bracelet like that. It’s impressive.
Is it soldered into the case?

It's not ay all possible to disconnect it. I presume it's some sort of solder/ rivet thing going on - though it's done so well from the outside it's impossible to tell how it is done and I wouldn't want to take the movement out just to see haha.

I like 5960 for its sport look but finally went for a Nautilus again.
So I went for a 5726a but installed a Rubber B strap which gave it a sport look, not as sporty as the 5960 with blue/red colors but still OK for a swim.
