All Other Things Equal, Is There a Better Heirloom Watch than Rolex?

So the best I can do at least is to choose something that will require the least amount of effort for my heirs to keep in the family.

That Timex is sounding better and better.

Seriously: I'll bet the more expensive the watch is, the more relatives will be tempted to sell. I'll forever keep the $5k watch that I've seen my dad wear when I grew up - unless I need the money to save a loved one's life.

But if the grandfather I hardly knew would've left me a 2915-1, I'd be real tempted to sell at today's prices. I'm a nostalgic fool and all, but I can totally imagine a situation where I would need that kind of money more than I would an heirloom.
