What to do? Admin advice?

Im not an admin but I think you just need to hang around and get to the 200 post mark. I haven’t seen that be waved but correct me if I’m wrong

 

eBay, local auction house, car boot sale, local classifieds, chronotrader forum, etc.

 

@The Father is this the one for sale ? RCAF ?

 

This is a forum for watch enthusiasts to hang out and talk watches. We get to know each other and share information, ideas, humor, advice, etc. Occasionally long-time regular members with >200 valuable posts decide to sell-trade-buy a watch. However, this is not primarily a sales venue.

 

The culprits first post indicated he had one of the single pusher examples. This was a likeness.

If you really like watches, talk about them for a while. Post photos of what you're wearing. You'll have 200 posts before you know it.

I would Iike to buy a watch but have insufficient funds

 

Man, I was thinking maybe this guy had something like 150 posts and didn’t want to spam post in order to meet the limit.

Then I look at the account and this guy has 2 posts.

Many people freely admit they don't like to put much effort into things these days, they want results instantly. "200 posts?.....man you're killing me". It's part of the self esteem movement.......everybody gets a trophy.

An interested person could join in and contribute to six threads a day in one way or another, in about a month he'd be at about the 200 post level, and would be a lot more educated in Omega watches. I don't think that's asking too much for a hobbyist site.

 

Not sure why there's so much snark here.

If the warning message clearly said "You need 200 posts to advertise" with a link to the info thread, I'm sure these threads would stop coming up. Saying "insufficient privileges" is a little vague, especially without immediately redirecting them to more information (or explaining how they can obtain such privileges).

They might just be older people who don't really know how to navigate the site / find the information and find it easier to ask...

 

That's okay, OF isn't really for people to drop in, sell a watch, and take off.

 

For half the Watch I can give you 200 of my useless posts.
