I have an official ETA for the watch. They’ve updated my service page to show an anticipated completion date of July 5, 2020.

As many of you who own date watches have observed the 5th of July has come and gone. And I have no watch or update to show for it.

I did follow up with my “personal rep” who responded promptly asking for the service number, when I asked if it would be back for my family vacation in a couple weeks. Unfortunately I had radio silence after that. I emailed back a week later, and then another week later and got an automated email response that all inquiries should be directed to a different person (maybe she was on vacation or let go?). Either way, my email to the new person clearly did not warrant a response so over a week later (today) I decided to call again and see what was happening with the watch.

I understand customer service lines being busy and being placed on hold to listen to elevator music. Other people call and have concerns as well and you can’t talk to everyone at the same time. I do not feel as if I overcalled on this service. I called less than a dozen times but throughout the process only talked to people on about 6 occasions. Nevertheless I’ve likely wasted 8 hours on the phone because of the long wait time to talk to a rep and then the long wait times to try to figure out what was happening.

It looks like the end is in sight. Although not updated on their website, my watch was supposedly mailed back to NJ on the 21st of July. I believe they will overnight it to me when it gets there and I was told I should see it in the next two weeks.

I shall not hold my breath - but gotta remain hopeful on this one (the alternative isn’t good for your health)...

Be prepared to stare at this for a while after they send it from NJ.

Also to be clear to everyone, this was not created to be a 🤬 on Omega Service thread. However if someone ever has issues in the future, it’d be nice to show them they aren’t the only ones.

If anything, this thread has reinforced that I will never be a “one watch” guy. If I were, I’d have a tan wrist...

Please tell me that’s not from Swatch.... I was hoping they’d overnight fedex 😟 but then again, I was also hoping the original service would have been completed in a calendar year 😉

No, not from Swatch.
You have nothing to worry about with Fedex

I think I’m being played - if it was completed and mailed to NJ on 7/21 why did they update the service in progress date to 8/3 (but not check) the service completed box on 8/3?

This has gotten truly embarrassing for Omega. They should truly be ashamed and at the minimum, give you a free set of spring bars...maybe a plastic pen click pen that will break in a week- then you can send that in for service and see how long that takes.

Oh yeah, I bet Bienne is really upset about what’s happened to @WYO_Watch ’s watch.

Damn, it’s an ugly, ugly story. My sympathies.

Wow, this must be so frustrating. It totally sucks when you’ve plainly been lied to.

Golden rule of customer service = underpromise and overdeliver. Certainly not the case here 🙁

Well the website still isn’t updated as completed - but they did give me a tracking number! I guess they weren’t yanking my chain about it leaving Switzerland.

But... I took a walk with the girls and missed it by about 5 minutes.

Tomorrow I will have my watch back! Which will eventually get sent to a watchmaker to switch out the new stuff with the old stuff again. But I’m stoked

Just read the whole thread! Crazy, crazy, crazy bad customer service. I'm not sure I can wait until tomorrow for the grand finale.

Can't you go pick it up from the FedEx depot? 😀

I gave a ring to FedEx to make this request or a redelivery, but unfortunately the truck driver was already on his way to deliver to another town a few hours away. The downside of being in a sparsely populated state, many places don’t have depots so we all share.

I was joking but man, I really admire your patience. Didn't know Buddhists were into watches

Here's hoping that this debacle really ends for you tomorrow (a la The Fugitive, I have this vision of the FedEx delivery vehicle stalling on the tracks in the path of an oncoming locomotive). Looking forward to seeing photos of the watch.

We will all have a restless night in anticipation of the results of this Omega saga. I truly hope Omega didn't screw the pooch on this one.

I actually read all four pages. You have my sincere sympathies and I pray this never happens to me.
