I second @jaguar11 . Just wear the watch and enjoy it.
Thank you. I have been in touch with a chap from Bonham's who is keen to include it in their November auction so watch this space.
My 80 year-old friend who passed the watch onto me does not really want it anymore and I don't really like the design of it looks-wise.

What were you expecting?
Something a little more 'certificate-like' perhaps for the money? A4-sized and a bit of embossing would have been nice!

I think that the Extract is as good as you could possibly hope. It shows that the movement is correct for a 165.024. Congrats. Not sure what you expected, since even your story suggests that the dial is not original.
No, the dial is not original.

Thank you. No, I don't want a refund for the extract. Was just expecting something a bit more 'decorative' I suppose!

You're not the only one. These are the new Extracts and are frankly a bit cheap.

Previously they were an unfolded A4 size certificate nicely presented in a wax sealed folder and without that ridiculous huge disclaimer on the top of the page.

So that pretty much confirms the dial is either a replacement, repaint or fake. I guess if someone out here has a mil SM300 with plain dial in need of a unicorn circle T dial wants to swap you could sort it. You may even have something pretty valuable but the fact remains the watch is a Franken.
Thank you. It may go to auction in the next couple of months.

Ah. I thought you were referring to the information contained.

I agree the new extracts look like they've been subject to a bit of a cost saving exercise!
