That's a big negatory!

I've had bad dreams about watches with patina that resembled that.

I’m slightly puzzled as to why this was released , it’s as if they had all the pieces of what could’ve have been a fantastic concept but seem to have put them together the wrong way .

That bloody Rolex is wrong, aesthetically, ethically and morally wrong!
I dunno what’s worse that or that horrid thing with the sparkly rainbow shit around the bezel

Okay, that is pretty awful.
Makes the boba tea/ball pit watch look a lot better.
Again, I know I am not the target market for this one, but not sure who is??

YES!! I like it. I don’t give a shit if I’m the only one. 😝

My question is if any of that Rolex money is going to autism research or did they just completely rip off the design?

There was a Omega puzzle watch on this Forum just a few days ago. https://omegaforums.net/threads/flight-crashed-flightmaster.156931/page-5#post-2151001

And I did not get it 🙁🙁 I still have my similar Heuer one though It ever I get the courage to attempt replacing the hairspring.

I suspect that Rollex simply wants to show that No nursery school can beat them when it comes to outsider art. Or else they are aiming for the preschool market. I had a take apart clock when I was a kid. Lost the clock but saved the box. Years later I found a similar clock.

I keep it with my tribble.

Not trying to troll, but I don't understand the overwhelming negative response. I get that aesthetics/taste are subjective, but this particular watch seems to have really, truly pissed people off. Is it just because it's an anti-useful watch?

I almost read it as a way of Rolex having fun. The Deepsea, a watch capable of going *literally* deeper than the deepest ocean (humming old songs now), is just as literally useless, as this new watch. Most of our watches are, in fact, not used to their full capacity, of course; I'm presently waiting while one of my daughter's in ballet class, and my 20ATM watch is...not...useful. Great for telling the time and looking good, but not for anything like its intended purpose.

I think the watch is great--I don't have the money or connections for one, but it blows my mind to think of the incredibly utilitarian engineers at Rolex tasked with developing this not just *useless* watch but a watch that seems almost anti-useful (again, though: I'd love to hear someone offer a strident defense for the utility of a watch capable of going deeper than any spot on earth). I like it for the same reason I like many silly things: it's interesting and fun and shows an appreciation for serious play. The way people respond to this--as if insulted--feels almost defensive, as if no one wants to have to admit they don't need all the Tool Watch elements we all are drawn to.

Say what you will - this thing will sell like hotcakes and have a huge uptick on the secondary.
