How long have you been on the cal. 321 waiting list?

The 321 is produced in extremely small numbers and the demand for the watch exceeds the production quantity many times over. The production of the caliber is extremely time consuming and difficult! No comparison with the other Omega movements. It is not only the complexity that leads to the fact that only very small numbers of the watch are produced, but also the many manual labor with which the movement is made. This is not like Rolex where you have to wait years for every 0815 model that is pure mass production. The sellers have to decide which customers they want to sell the watch to because of the extremely high demand and the low quantities. It is absolutely fair that first the customers get the watch, who have already bought many Omega watches there and are therefore real fans / lovers / collectors of the brand. Anything else would not be fair to this group of buyers. If we were in the seller's place, we would surely also give our top customers of the Omega brand the chance to buy the watch first and not some customer who has never or only bought 1 watch in OB. Again, please don't compare this to Rolex, where pretty much no new customer has a chance to get any watch, as almost no Rolex steel model is sold to these persons.
It's ok that every watch brand has a few models that are reserved for the brand's top customers. At Omega, these are really only 3-4 models, everything else you can buy immediately without waiting. Even as a new customer.
The 321 movement is not hard to produce or assemble, it's a very basic column wheel design previously made in the hundreds of thousands by many brands across its production life. Omega is marketing it as some sort of tour de force of horology....it's not. They could produce as many as they want, they have chosen to make it a super low halo piece. Marketing decision, that's all.

Good marketing.

Does this mean the automaton on the caseback of the Snoopy also isn’t REALLY hard to produce in a Watch factory?

And does this mean the caseback of the James Bond 60 isn’t ACTUALLY the reason for slow production?

I missed out on the Speedy Tuesday Ultraman at retail for 6k on the day of introduction. It was sold out in 2,5 hours and still, when applying for it the website was unavailable and timed-out. I couldn't get through. I bought the watch a year later new in box for 7k. 1k over retail, I didn't mind.
Same here, Omega's online sales platform was pretty rickety and haphazard, so I missed out. Disappointed, but life goes on. In March 2019 I was in Melbourne Australia and a reseller in an arcade off Collins St had a BNIB Ultraman for sale for AUS$12,875, well above the retail price in that country. But I could get the 10% GST refunded upon export, and the exchange rate was good at the time. When all was said and done I had the watch at US$750 more than what I would have paid during the Omega online sales effort. NO BRAINER! But it seems some people would say no to paying 10% over retail from a flipper. Everyone's approach is different, it was a no brainer for me.

I was very fortunate to have an amazing relationship with my OB (along with a lot of buying history). My OB asked me what I thought about the 321. I told them that while I was interested, I missed the boat, so the waiting list would be so long that I would not be able to order one, let alone receive one. A few months later, they called me & asked me to come by. Lo & behold, they were offering me a 321. I could not turn it down & purchased on the spot. I understand that my experience is a bit unique & some of you may be quite upset with the events that transpired. But, that is how I received my 321. I wear it as part of my rotation!

I also live in Switzerland and I have been waiting for the Ed White for over a year and have been told it's a longer wait than the Snoopy. They told me at my OB that the numbers of Ed Whites they receive are pretty low. Only a couple per year.
I also waited 2 years for my snoopy. Got on the list the month it was announced.
So there seems to be a big difference in Switzerland as well.

Hmmmmm yeah the Ed White numbers are low (world wide demand @ only max 2k produced). But my OB manager friend said the bottleneck is a lack qualified staff (watchmakers) and every company expanding. Market is pretty dry I have been told for watchmakers.
But I am surprised @your waiting times & comments about your OB vol. Maybe it’s a regional small one?
If your registered resident in CH privately chat me and I can give you the name of my OB manager friend and maybe he can sort you out faster? (No promises though). Also let me know which store U went to (private msg)

My OB told me last year they got 2 321 the whole year and this year, they only got the 1 I got. And they told me the same thing about supply. There is a shortage of qualified watchmakers at Omega Switzerland. I’m so glad I got my 321 first as it seems the Snoopy is easier to get but still not common, just easier than a 321. The service time is also 12 months for the 321 they told me.

Hmmmm as I had my 321 serviced due to a second fault requiring adjustments 2 yrs ago or so. Took a few days and was returned to me within I think 2 weeks (note that’s within Switzerland). But I guess in the meantime they are struggling with production expansion and internal challenges (a lot of personal have been removed after auction scandal (heritage & museum Dept). Also due to renovation work / expansion & new dinning location, currently being built, I assume Omega has their hands full. Note ROLEX just built a new factory and had struggling to also find staff. But then the whole economy in Switzerland is struggling with headcount due to baby boomers retiring.

I'm on the waiting list with the OB in Zurich since Jan 2022. I went there this week for a different matter but asked about the current waiting times for a NEW321. They said, they hadn't seen a single example coming in this year so far.

I would pay 750 over original retail for an Ultraman. Then I'd wear the sh** out of it.

I will ask my mate and see when he gets my:
As I have just rejected the X fathoms due to crap silicon custom strap! Why make a dive watch not allow a nato strap attachment

Not crazy about that Blancpain, but the UD sea dial is one of two production Omegas I'm really interested in. Unfortunately, they too seem to be very thin on the ground. I put in an order at launch. Maybe it will arrive before the September of my years, along with the EW321 I have now reached or even passed the 3 year point on (IIRC).

Well I have spent 3 nights now thinking of a X Fathom would be cool dive watch or not! But as the strap is weak silicon which easily tears losing a 40k watch when a tuna line clips your massive watch and rips strap and then seeing drop into 600m on the fish finder isn’t fun

After a fruitless year waiting for my AD to produce a 321, I finally gave up and got my deposit returned.

I then visited the local OB and explained my lengthy wait and asked if he could add me to his 321EW wait list. Four months later I got the call....then another call....then another.

I understand he has a Canopus 321 in the safe.....deciding if I should pull the trigger?

Might as well go get the Canopus 321 to complete the collection.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I asked my local AD and he basically laughed at me and said he'd never even received one. He refused to add me to their list. (Was rude enough that I decided to purchase my wife's upcoming 10th anniversary jewelry gift elsewhere)

I drove 200 miles (400 roundtrip) to my nearest OB and got my name on the list for a 321. The person adding me to the list said I was 60th in line, so I have to assume that realistically means "never." I'm willing to pay a premium for a new one with box and papers if I can inspect it first. Would strongly prefer to get it from OB but it seems impossible unless you have an OB in your hometown or have a buying history at some select ADs that actually receive them.

Does anyone have any advice? Would prefer to avoid Chrono24.

In a sort of roundabout way it's possible your ad did you a favor, if he has an attitude like that maybe Omega hasn't sent him any for a reason. If he had added you to the list knowing that he likely would never receive any, your chances might have gone from 0.02% to 0.00%!!

You might still have hope. I don’t see them discontinuing the 321. Plus they are more of a niche watch compared to something like a Snoopy. I waited about 6 months for my 321 and around 9 months for my Snoopy, both from my OB.
Was hanging out talking to my OB SA this past Saturday for a couple hours and he said the 321 list isn’t nearly as bad as the Snoopy list. He still gets a handful of people coming in weekly asking for Snoopy. He actually had a couple people turn down the 321. Honestly, I like my Snoopy better. It is a show stopper if you see it in person. The dial is a silver white, stunning and the blue is a rich color.
