How long have you been on the cal. 321 waiting list?

I recently decided to get on the waiting list at my local AD and at an OB in a somewhat nearby city for an Ed White cal. 321. I'm curious - is anyone hearing about wait times and have folks on here been actually getting one? All I see are listings on Chrono24 for $20K+.

You aren't likely to get one anytime soon at an OB, much less from an AD, as the waiting lists are very long. I went grey last March (<$19k) and had it on my wrist in a couple of weeks. I've got no time for silly wait lists, but that's just me. You'll have to decide what the true value of a 321 is and make your decision. My view is it is worth more than what Omega sells it for, so even a well looked after Ed White 321 will trade higher than Omega's list price long term.

Personally waiting for the Ed White 3861 at half the price and fully available everywhere.
You'll die waiting, but you have your principles!

Waiting list no longer exists for the EW321. They're being allocated based on the discretion of AD/OB. If you don't want to wait but will only pay MSRP, go buy some full gold Omega's from the OB's. I bet the OB will come up with an EW321 without too much of a wait if you do that.

That sounds downright Rolexish.

So Omega is emulating Rolex now? I’m so depressed …

Bright side is that it's really only with the EW321 that this is happening. Almost everything else in their catalog is available. Rolex is doing this with the Sub, GMT, Daytona, Daydate in RG with olive dial, etc.

True. Let’s hope that the EW321 is as far as it goes.

My AD is the only one in a pretty large city and does a significant volume of Omega (and there is no OB here). They have yet to even receive a single EW321.

With the Snoopy too. Two OBs (in different countries) told me I could jump the line if I “bought a few other watches”. Nope. Not doing that…

I've never understood the idea of buying watches you don't want to get one you do want at MSRP. Just go gray and pay the premium. No wait list at all and then you're not left with watches you don't want (or would need to turn around and sell yourself).

The EW321 is a watch I want but not willing to pay a premium. If I ever get allocated one then great. I'll wait for it. If I don't ever get one it's no loss for me. I'm not going to buy stuff I don't want nor pay a premium at this point. If it ever gets discontinued or I make a lot more money, then my mind will change.

I have no history with any OB. I asked to get on the list a few months ago lol I was told 150k purchase history. I reiterated that I was a collector, but I bet my request was tossed out.
Tbh if there’s any watch worth paying a premium, it’s the EW321. What’s a 3k+ premium over a 15k watch that is super difficult to get? It’s an iconic watch and a collector’s piece. It will never be accessible, it’s been a few years.
A super nice original Ed white on bracelet costs the same… new is better and safer. I’ll be saving up or trading up for one.

Exactly this. I welcome this.

This means old timers could get a 321, lessen the chances of them being flipped. It’s a vetting process, almost.

It’s rather easy to tell who’s passionate about the brand and who’s a YouTube idiot, selling “educational” courses.

Let the boutique decide.

Diid this really happened? Or did the SA said along the line of “some customers who spent 150k get first dibs”.

I sometimes get the “my VIPs spent 150k get it first”, but not the nasty “ you need to spent $150k”.

Yes it really happened. I was told you have to have a 150k spending history to get on the EW list. I was just as surprised. It’s more brutal than Rolex!

Bizarrely enough I was offered one by my OB before Xmas. I hadn't specifically ordered one, just shown interest if one came about. The Manager rang me and said that the original order had been refused by the original customer due to buying a new car. The Manager asked me if I would like to put it under my Xmas tree! Of course I accepted and even got a free strap and deployment thrown in too. So, no real wait! From what I can see that is certainly not the norm. However, I have a good spend history and a great relationship with my OB.
