This is a 165.001, as it has no bezel. 165.002 is nearly identical, but with a separate bezel.

This watch was manufactured after the switch to tritium, but before the Swiss standardized on the T mark on the dial. The tritium lume with the lack of a T on the dial places the manufacture date between 1962 and 1963.
What is the serial number on the movement?

1963 by most serial/date references. For the time being, I will stand by my reasoning for the "No T" assessment.

I've seen a few references, including this one, indicating this watch is too early for the T mark:

Lifting a digression from another post, but why do so many Omega Tritium dials not have a T.

Taken from the Moon watch only site

'The T indication only appeared in 1964 following a Swiss interior ministry ruling from October 1963 on radiation from luminous watch dials.

It required indication of the presence of radioactive substances and set forth a table of radiation limits, which came into force on January 1, 1964.'

The watchmaker at the corner buffed the crystal without asking first then destroyed my Twist-O-Flex in the process of cracking open the case back. (I won't be going back there.) No service marks in the case back, possible this watch has never been opened up before today.

IMO the lume dots are not the size, shape or color that one would expect to see for the original lume on a watch of this era. Again, not a big deal.

I think the lume dots (should be tiny almost spherical balls) look OK and the variations are due to refraction from the curve of the crystal.
I'd like to see a good clear shot without the crystal to be sure.

It's a very nice example anyway.

Thanks for the encouragement. This is headed over to the guy who overhauled my KSK.

I think you did ok. Too bad about the hack on the corner, at least the spiedel was not the real value here.

This is likely because the original gasket (yellow) is still in place...
