Seamaster DeVille - How did I do?

Hi all. I got offered this watch today and decided to go for it. It's a Seamaster DeVille, ref 166.020, with a textured sigma dial, and a caliber 563 movement. A small watch at 34.5mm, but it wears almost as a 36mm and even on my larger wrists it looks quite nice. Has been serviced a few weeks ago.

Decided to go for it without asking in the forums first, as a challenge to myself. I liked the condition and figured that the dial may be a rarer variation. Paid €500 for it. How did I do?

I like it. As you probably know, the sigma symbols at the bottom of the dial indicate that the dial furniture is gold.

Learnt this yesterday. Initially it worried me, as something I hadn't encountered in an Omega. Then I found this thread talking about sigma dials in general and specifically with a watch exactly like mine.

Nice and clean. I like it! Nice brushed dial as well, it gives it a more interesting touch! 👍

If I was collecting this model I'd easily offer 2x to you, sigma dials are quite rare

Yet never auction it lol, you'll be very disappointed, I've auctioned mine and it didn't fetch any premium

I can imagine. Probably there's not too many collectors interested in these?

Not yet, I haven't seen any SMDV collectors and late 60's early 70's feels like a niche within a niche, but at least its a niche

Still let me call dibbs, maybe when you decide to sell I'll be available and this could be a nice piece to start a SMDV collection with

If I'll decide to sell, you'll be the first to know. In the meantime, I'm thinking of sourcing a 1037/570 bracelet for it and enjoying it for a while.

I really like the sigma dial Devilles and although the premium is almost zero, the people who know, know.
Solid buy at that price. Wel done.

The BoR bracelet I ordered arrived today. It takes a different look on it and I'm quite liking it.

Very fair 500€ for a watch on that condition.
I would say it is probably a 800€-1000€ watch after service.

Thanks. It's actually been serviced by a very good local watchmaker, so that's a bonus.

Thanks. Agree; the bracelet makes a whole new watch.
