    Hey OF,

So I got this seamaster for a good friend of mine that's getting into vintage omega. I know there are issues with it, but I think that we both liked it enough to spend around 400 US bucks on it.
It has yet to arrive to my friend so I have to rely on the seller's pics.
I just wanted to know more about the watch, and what's wrong with it/good about it. I think probably relative to price I did pretty bad.

Here's some thinking on my end. Some issues right off the bat- small crack on dial at 5. Didn't bother me that much though, just personally.

Seller didn't have the tools to open up the caseback. I know, I'm sorry for not further pushing the seller to open it up. But the watch didn't have enough red flags for me (to my inexperienced eyes) to see that I should either see the movement or not buy at all, so I didn't really pursue it.

I think the case is probably polished, or refinished (is that bevel edge on the lug just a thing or a product of refinishing?) and the hands probably aren't original to this watch. I think these are called bumper seamasters? I'm sorry to appear like I've done no research at all- but honestly, I genuinely don't know enough to know straightaway what caliber and what ref it is. ::facepalm2:: Forgive my ignorance and inexperience. So, I really appreciate any comments and information there is to give about this guy. Thank you!

Hmm maybe a redial (minute track, swiss made) and not a seamaster case, and if it bumbs it is maybe missing some screws.:D

Oh my..did I just fail OF university?:confused::D::facepalm2:: if that's true that's really sad. Dial I suspected was a redial as well too, but the other possible issues I was not aware of at all. :(

Thank you! But as much as I want to be one, I would be ultimately not such a good one if I ended up buying one hell of a monstrosity...!

It cant be a Seamaster because the case is not water-resistant one. Look like a redialed with overpolished case.

I like how it's getting worse and worse. :D Next up I'll find a corroded quartz movement inside...
But I don't know, for the novice like me, since I don't know what it's supposed to look like, I thought it looked pretty nice. Oh well...
Thanks everyone for your responses though! I really appreciate the input, whether good or bad.
