Looks like a "Railnaster" to me, similar to the "Seanaster"s

I'll be the one that cried redial this time

When a group of enthusiasts like yourselves have no info or even opinions about something this rare, I don't feel so bad because it seems nobody has any more info on this watch than I have already found by using Google. I wonder if it is a very limited run to use up parts and pieces. Guess I'll never know.

This is quite wrong, I don't collect this model and even* I know a lot about it already, it's pretty much a fully explored model, lots of examples and the caseback digits are a must

Edit: You can check the Railmaster thread on OF as well

didn't aquire that high standard of respect by rushing into poor judgements, he is very thorough and accurate in what he says because he wants people to look up to him, trust him and seek his knowledge in the future.
If I were going to voice my opinion on something I would be sure what my opinion was before posting it. I would feel pretty stupid if I said the same thing twice and then changing my mind as though I really don't know what I really think. That is why I said he was messing with me. He seems to be to thorough to make rookie mistakes. You know, I'm sorry I came here thinking I would get those that really wanted to help a new person, I knew I would get those that always have an opinion on new guys because they feel they are looking down on someone that is not their equal and should simply have used the search feature and is put off by someone thinking that just because they know more than the person asking, they still don't need to share their knowledge. I did use the search function, I spent hours researching on several search browsers. If I had found some reputable info I would not have came here to bother you members. I will bow out and not step on any toes because it seems the info I receive here is not that dependable anyway.

Ah, I see the discussion now

The thing is with vintage watches you have to do 1000's of split second judgements just from a thumbnail, as you'll be looking at 1000+ watches every day. So let's cut him some slack on that front, he did correct his mistake honestly.

If there is 5% misinformation on OF, out there, the misinformation rate is 50%. There are people writing articles just to validate their franken watches. So OF is the best you get, but I agree with you partially on some of your points

You're rushing to judgements though, take a breath, you posted your thread on Sunday, wait a week for a consensus to form, don't just flame blame and cry

If it's any consolation, no one is looking down on you because you're not their equal. It's because you came here asking for opinions and help and when you got it, you responded with dimwitted insults and pouting. Good luck with your hours of research on several search browsers.

Dude look at my post count and likes. I know damn near nothing. Sometimes you need to look at dials for a while as some redials are quite good. I got misdiagnosed by an MD of 20 years early this year. Lead to some serious issues. Who amongst us is perfect.

I have been trying to find anything about this watch I can find for several days. So far I have found nothing. I was told it was in a collection from a deceased collector and that is what I have found out so far.

This lingered on eBay for quite some time with reduced asking prices - likely for a reason. I believe the only parts that might be original to a 1960’s Railmaster Official are the hands. Everything else is a different watch entirely.

The railroad officials had a bright white enamel dial and did not have applied logo or date window.

Here is the link to ebay where I found it.

In your copious amount of research, you should have seen the quality of the other "omega" watches the seller has up there. Not so good.

Especially this one's "original, rare original black crosshair dial" and "lightly polished case"

OP buys watch
OP acknowledges he knows nothing about said watch
OP asks forum for help confirming watch is as advertised
OP does not get reaction OP hoped for
OP lashes out at forum for giving the bad news
Remarkable.

Lets not forget the very worn/polished case and tired movement with a super clean dial...BIG red flag in my book.

Sorry you didn’t like my responses and you feel like I provided a poor service to you. Believe it or not, offering opinions on OF isn’t my full time occupation.

I did make a mistake initially saying it was genuine, and then rectified when I noticed the redial. The picture is very poor, but yes on reflection, it’s a clear redial (which i subsequently said).

Perhaps you should pay a watch consultant if you’re not happy with the free service available here. Or at least post better pictures.

BTW I don’t want people to look up to me and seek my opinion. Why would I, this is my hobby.

As for “feeing stupid”, you must be messing with me.

I can hit that before my coffee in the morning- clearly not me.

Oh, and now that you are a member of the 10k post club you get access to the champagne room where you can hang out with 5 guys on stools under a bare bulb, silently winding their Speedmasters in their their underwear…it’s a good time.

Waiting for the obligatory Dan S' "another satisfied customer" post before looking for dog and cat pictures.
