Perhaps, ha.

Haven't paid yet, and there's a 30 day return policy, so either this is a deal or I'm about to get ripped off.

Bunch of follow up questions if we think are real -

- I'll be converting this back to the original crown orientation. Will need to get a new date wheel to do so? Any advice on finding a new date wheel (part #?) and someone who could do it?

- Would you fix the lume hole on the big hand? Any tips there?

- It also appears there is a scratch on the dial - leave as is assuming that's not on the crystal?

- I'd like to find one of those mesh type bracelets as well? Anyone know the part number?

- I'm assuming, too, that $3500 is a steal for one these days?

I am going to say it is real, at least I think the bracelet is genuine but there might be some of original on the watch but I do t believe it’s a replica.

I was watching that one too and decided not to bid at the last minute, I've wanted a project Ploprof for ages and also have a spare vintage dial but I need to cut back on the number of watches I've got.

Hope the watch works out good for you.

I think the date wheel stays the same but may be wrong 😵‍💫. Visually imagining the numbers as they progress around means they are upside down on the opposite side but you will turn the watch upside down. So it all turns out ok?

Personally, I would leave everything else alone. It is a tool watch. Battle scars on a vintage piece adds character.

The lume is completely missing on the second hand..

Either way, if it is running good, it is a very nice catch. IMO

To convert back to normal orientation you need the correct date wheel. The problem is they are aligned a little differently due to if 3 o’clock is correct 9 o’clock is wrong as 31 does not go into 360/60

Otherwise it’s just flipping the dial.

As others have mentioned you will need a new data wheel. You should also check the serial number and order an extract from Omega so that you can confirm that the movement is correct for this watch. These watches were used and abused, and do not be shocked if the movement needs a fair bit of work. I would leave as is and see if you can get a watch maker to stabilize the lume on the hands. It is a nice looking watch, and should be a fun project.

Here is my project Ploprof from 4-5 years ago.

Interesting that Omega designed this movement to allow rotating the dial. All earlier movements won't do that.

Hard to say with certainty from those photos but the case looks too good for the rest of the watch.

The dial, handset and bezel have had quite a life, that's fine, PloProfs often have, but the case looks virtually unmarked.

Maybe it's just how this one has aged but usually case condition is consistent with the other parts of the watch.

yes you will have to change the date disc. As there is 31 one days and not 30 the date will be off the window.

with those pics you can't say which date disc is mounted .... the "error" will be only visible around the 23th and onwards.

???

Shouldn’t it be off the same degree regardless of the date?
