To relume or not to relume?.....That is the question....

I think there is a middle ground. If it was mine (and assuming the lume is dead on the rest of the watch), I'd be seeing if someone might be able to fill the hands and possibly touch up the 3 o'clock marker with a colour matched inert material.

Agreed - I’d sympathetically relume the hands but not touch the dial.

The lume is not containing tritium - it is radium for sure!

So it will not glow anymore - this is a plus because the hands can be filled with an inert (non-glowing) material which can be coloured to match the dial.

That makes for an interesting point, duly noted as something to take up with my watch repairer.
