Well, my previous comments about falling over (saying diving would be too harsh) to @stevec14 have come and bitten my in my behind after that rather soft penalty! But, as @Paul m says, who cares (apart from those few million Danes). As an Englishman, all that matters is that we're in the final for the first time in most of our lives! (hi to all you lucky older folk who can actually remember England actually winning something!).

For the final, it's not about form..... both teams can play incredible football and score incredible goals, so I'm hoping England at home will be on top form and bring it home!! 馃榾

Well, it鈥檚 great they are through. I鈥檓 looking forward to Sunday. But what is VAR for? Clearly that鈥檚 not a penalty and Sterling has dived with no contact.

I feel sorry for the Danes. A semi final shouldn鈥檛 be decided like that for all we were the better side I think all in all.

You guys know if BBC speakers laughed at nice Sterling's diving yesterday night, or they laugh and joke only when italians dive? I'm curious.

Italy on the other hand were scintillating and opened the Belgians up at will. They really excel in the amateur dramatics department and for this reason I hope they don鈥檛 win and an honest team like Spain or England wins it. Say no to Racism but cheat like sailors girlfriend !! Seriously UEFA get your act together.

Well, after the Sterling's diving performance and the laser put on the face of the danish goalkeeper at the moment of the penalty this is quite a funny comment to read. Seems like the world is the same wherever you go, when it comes at winning at every cost.

That laser business needs to be a police investigation, not just a sports commission - the line needs to be drawn on that kind of thing immediately. I hope all the stadium security video can lead to a criminal charge. If Schmeichel was a heli pilot I think they rightly would be all over it.

To be fair, The comment was posted days prior to the game when England had played good honest football up to this incident. Its my opinion that it was a dive of desperation from Sterling as he knew he would never score against Denmark in open play.

In the other Semi the Italians were on their best behaviour save a few little incidents that didn't have an influence on the game like Sterlings antics did.

The question for the neutrals now is, who do you want to win, the big cheaters or the little cheaters ?

Either way, the winners for me are Denmark for entertaining us with brave attractive football.

It was definitely a soft penalty, I don't think anyone would argue anything else, but Denmark's goal should have been disallowed. The opposition must be a minimum of 1 meter away from the last man of the defending team. Denmark blocked the view of the goalkeeper with their 3 man wall standing right next to the English players. Of course it would be better to win without controversy but nothing can be done about it now. Hopefully VAR will be better used in the future.

Denmark were indeed a credit to their country and to the game of football.but after 60 minutes they were spent like a boxer on the ropes.England we鈥檙e definitely the better team and deserved to win.Spain were the better team against Italy and lost on penalties.sport is rarely fair I鈥檓 afraid.

Aside from the was it or not penalty... There were 2 balls on the pitch well before the action in the last rectangle started. Following the rules, the game should have been stopped! Referee did stopped it a few minutes later for the same reason...

I'm sorry, english is not my native language so probably I'm misunderstanding you: you are not saying that final now is between big and expert cheaters, meaning Italy, and little cheaters who dive not for cheating but for desperation, meaning England, aren't you right?

Judging by the statements from the Danish supporters who were at the match, the English supporters were attrocious. Families with young sons and daughters got yelled at before, during and after the game, they were spit on and bottles got thrown several times. A lot of kids were too scared to show their Danish national team jersey too.

Add to that the use of a laser pen (!?!) several times during the match and the boohing during the national anthem, I am appalled by the English football "culture".

There is no excuse for this sort of behaviour, no matter if football is coming home or not.

@Twocats - I was expecting to root for the English, but now I am not so certain. Let's see if the average IQ of the English football fan can be raised by 10-20 before the finals.

Oh, I feel genuinely sorry for you and for such an unsportsmanlike thought.
It seems to me that question for the neutrals now should be: will I see a good match? Will I have fun?

Sadly the England football team has become a symbol and totem for the fast-growing ugly xenophobia that appears to have been given permission to step out of the shadow of unacceptability by Brexit. It鈥檚 as if all those racists who thought they were part of a small minority now think they are the majority.

It鈥檚 sickening.

Neutrals, and supporters alike, will see a good match. Some of the games in this tournament have been inspiring.
Italy are a class act. They push forward with proficient control.
England will have to step up. They鈥檒l have to sort out their midfield, and get more players in the box, but they are capable, and want to win.
There isn鈥檛 anything to suggest that the final won鈥檛 be a good game, whoever lifts the trophy.

I don't understand how you see my thoughts as unsportsmanlike. The Italians rolled around the field at every opportunity looking for a booking or a free kick and the Ciro Immobile episode was worthy of an Oscar nomination. Raheem Sterling went down very dramatically from minimal contact denying the Danish a fair and square shot at a penalty shoot out. These acts are unsportsmanlike from actual sportsmen.....

The endless flopping is bane of soccer's existence.

Show the floppers a yellow card. Problem solved.

VAR should be used for diving incidents and a dive with this outcome should and must be handled with at least one game suspension. Then problem will be solved.

During the world championship in Brazil, the actual time playing soccer was under 60min, in avarage, all games combined. This diving, players who looks like they got shot by a .45 magnum and the time it takes for one to do a throw in when leading must come to an end.

10 years ago i watched 1000 games a year and had season ticket on Anfield and flew from Sweden 20 times a season to watch games but now I'm seeing like 10 games a year.

These divas, can't stand em
