Two good games of football yesterday, (obviously less good if your team lost) I expected Holland to do better but at this stage of the competition you need to turn up for every match. Ronaldo the winker couldn’t save his team this time around, well done Belgium. Ronaldo is leading the Golden Boot competition along with Own Goal. 5 a piece. I hope Own Goal pips him to the title.

I can’t wait to see Own Goal holding up the Golden Boot 😁

Happy to see Portugal go out, primarily because Pepe is a bitch.
I can’t agree more. I was quite surprised realizing he’s still playing for Portugal. And yes, there was no other player who drove me crazy like him. Not for football abilities but for his man’s attitude on the pitch. Absolute shame.

Don’t forget His former team mate Ramos. They were a pair…….

What a match! They should have scored goal in OT but conceded two on the other side of the pitch. I really enjoyed this game. Congrats to Spain!

I was a bit off the Euro at the beginning, almost none interest but with play-off games it’s completely different story. I will follow upcoming games.

That’s a lot of goals tonight. Great atmosphere on both stadiums and great games! Come on Swiss, you can score one more!

What a friggin amazing day of football so far!!! It's the start of extra time in BOTH games (watching a recording of the Spain-Croatia game) and BOTH games are tied at 3-3!

And it's only 11am here in Maui!! Woohoo!! (worth missing the beach for!!).

Wait, do the referees wear two watches, one in each wrist?

Stopwatch on one wrist and goal-line technology receiver on the other one. That goal-line system was in action during the CRO-ESP game yesterday. If the ball crosses the line, ref gets the notification immediately.

Finally they bring this much-needed ‘technology’ (and video referees) to football…it’s been used in cricket for over two decades (where things are smaller and faster)…rugby has at least had video referees for about half that time…

Couldn't agree more BUT...the way Premier League handled VAR technology through the season was absolutely unacceptable. Hopefully they learned the lesson and it will settle down next season. To be fair VAR is OK during the Euro2020, no controversy so far.

It looks as though they try and improve the flow of play whilst still overturning/correcting bad decisions (or lack of any). But the new ‘offside’ way of notifying later seems to not be as intended…
