Northern Ireland does not have any orange in its flag.

which is slightly ironic really....

BTW, I can’t believe you’ve landed yourself in Baku for both the Grand Prix and the first two Welsh games. you must be like a dog with two tales.
Enjoy the second game today.

Oh shizer!! So sorry about that mix up there mate!! Major yellow card, if not red!! 🙁
Easy mistake to make, half of Northern Ireland probably support the other side anyway.

That must have been a great atmosphere last night.

Looking at your route I don't think it's inconceivable at all to see Wales reach the semi final, unless I'm mistaken Wales can't meet any of the giants until that point and Italy would be the only bananaskin probably at the semi. France, Germany, Portugal, Spain all on the other side so could only meet any of those in the final?

The Azzurri are looking strong though, unbeaten in 29 matches, and haven’t conceded in the last 10. Peaking at the right moment. Wales (or as a mate calls them, Bales) vs Italy is a mouthwatering prospect...

It was fantastic being there. Our tickets were bought in Azerbaijan so we were stuck in the middle of the Turkish supporters. There were three Turkish supporters with tickets in the middle of the welsh fans. The stewards allowed us to swap tickets and everyone was happy. Well we were more happy with the result than they were I imagine. It was a fantastic night, but I can not say I have been the most productive worker today. My poor wife has arranged to go drinking with her Finnish friend tonight, I do not envy her one bit. Two Fins together, going for a drink usually ends in….a lot of drinking.

Sounds brilliant! Bonus having Finland to support aswell.

They do for the Olympics, and it hasn’t made any difference 😬

Time for this, I think - still the best version, and enjoyed as much by Germans as the English I understand (possibly different POVs of course). Tissues at the ready 😟

Three Lions '98 Official Video

Footnote - folks in non-soccer countries (no, me neither...) may like to know the melon-dipped-in-custard bit at the end is the trophy... 😜

England were dreadful last night, completely uninspired performance and for a young team they seemed so sluggish.

Congrats to our Scottish brothers though, they played really well.

Don't worry. Plenty of time for Scotland to disappoint. We'll beat Croatia but end up as the 4th best 3rd placed team.

Congratulations to Denmark, a slight tactical change after 10 minutes and Wales were done for. Still, a nation of 3.2 million people, where Rugby is a religion and football is for heathens, they did well.

Austria gave Italy a good run for their money but fell short in the end.

It will be one of the usual suspects who lift the trophy in the end. Going to support England until Tuesday when the Germans will knock them out on penalties. As per usual.

Great game of the Czech’s.
Thanks buddy! There was a moment which decided the game - Oranjes could score but the forward didn’t beat the keeper 1 on 1 and in a seconds there was a straight red card for the NL skipper. 11 against 10 was huge advantage for our team.

Its fair to say that in last 20 years we always have had a great games against NL. Except the one in Amsterdam during the Euro 2000 (last minute “unfair” penalty call against our team from Pierre Luigi Collina).

Congrats to the Czechs, played a solid game whereas the Dutch didn't break through a tough defense.

Yeah, they looked completely off the pace today. It’s strange, once knockout football starts the freedom and flair often goes and that happened here.

the Czechs played really well. It’s fair to say that half of the draw has really opened up. The winners of Germany and England will really fancy a run at the final I think.

I just read interesting statistics - only 4 players from Holland got red card through all Euros ever. 2 in semifinal game against former Czechoslovakia in 1976, 1 against Czech Republic in 2004 and 1 against Czech Republic today.
