I can finally post back here again ... A Kontiki 130TT, not the best dial, but on wrist and in person, it actutlooks quite nice. Pictures always highlight the imperfections much more.
Got the GF bracelet but it is too long, do I need to shorten it.

Earlier in this thread DanS posted a grey dial Eterna-Matic coming out of Japan (if I remember correctly).

I just received this grey dial Eterna-Matic (also from Japan). Interestingly, it seems that many of the Eterna's coming from this market have the same type of very cool crown, giving the watch a bit more character.

This Eterna-Matic is a no-date version with a very substantial 37mm case. The dial has some freckles but is in otherwise good condition. It has very cool "paper plane" markers for each quarter indication.

Movement is either a 1412U or 1414U. I didn't measure the movement and it is hard to make out the numbers underneath the balance. It seems to be nearly untouched as only the rotor screw is slightly marred. The mirror-polished rotor is pretty cool, by the way.

The watch is currently very dirty and there is a big hair at 1 o'clock. It's gonna be cleaned up and serviced in the next few weeks.

I can confirm they're original. I haven't seen any signed hidden crowns. Mine says hi, too!
Yes I agree, non-signed is correct

A wrist shot of the watch above.

Very cool! Eterna made some bangers in late the 50s/early 60s. Also, dibs! 😀

Just received this back from the watchmaker – my first Eterna-Matic Kontiki 130T, probably an early one with the Kontiki engraving on the back, barely visible.
Very nice to wear, and luckily I still have a reason to hunt for another, as the case has been polished, and quite a bit too.

Add: just saw the watch for the first time in good daylight and noticed that it's got a (new?) signed crystal with the five dots. Obviously should have seen this before, or on the photo... my eyes are not what they used to be, apparently.

Thanks, I know you have a couple of stunners as well ...
Speaking of stunners: I think you not only have this amazing Kontiki, but also a breathtakingly nice Eterna Chronographe. How would you compare the two, if I may ask... or might you even have a foto with both of them?

No, that's not me 😀
I am not much of a chronograph guy. My ideal watch is time only.

Ouch, nice burn. I meant Chronometer, and I suspect you know it. 😒
On the other hand... wouldn't «time only» mean no date?

This is his ideal watch, and he's jealous it's mine.

Ah, apologies. I genuinely thought you just mistook me for someone else. Come to think of it, I sometimes mix up chronometer and chronograph, too!

For sure. I would swap it for a no date in a heartbeat. The same goes for that chronometer I suspect you meant, by the way! If only it had that fourth arrowhead ...

Hey, I won't deny that. It reminds me of this one I own. Perhaps I should put some effort in this project watch, after all. The movement is total loss (rust fest).
