Here's one to get us back on course.
It is generally accepted the first Eterna matic ball bearing movements produced in 1948 were mainly used in watches for ladies, but the largest calibre, the 1199, was used in watches for gentlemen. Here is an example:-

Great stuff. This was also a first year, though I don't know if it had a spacer.

The outer dial seems to have a variance in thickness. The 'Eterna' print seems crooked. The 7 enters the petite seconde, which it never should. The print on the petite seconde feels off in size. 'Swiss' is missing below.

I have owned an early 1930s Eterna and I can assure you the printing should be razor sharp and pristine, even from that period.

The thickness is an artifact of the reflection from the crystal. I think the crooked Eterna printing is, again, a function of the pic, not the dial. The 7 issue is a more likely suspect though, ditto the print on the subdials. In the end, it was running poorly, contrary to what was promised. So, choosing discretion as the better part of valour, it went back to the seller. Tempus fugit (via the Royal Mail).

Congratulations! My recent pick-up says hi.

Is your crown signed or not? Mine is not, but I‘ve seen quite a few unsigned hidden crowns on Eternas of this era to assume they are original, but I’m happy to be corrected.

I can confirm they're original. I haven't seen any signed hidden crowns. Mine says hi, too!

I just had the pleasure of unpacking this beauty. Screw down crown, solid bracelet, great condition!
The dial is very dynamic and not as deteriorated as you'd typically see on blue dials from this era.
