Right on mate.

Try this if you're scared of Vegemite.

1. Lightly toast a slice of dark rye.
2. Spread a layer of vegemite on the bread (at least 2mm thick).
3. Cover with 3mm thick slices of King Island Roaring Forties Blue.
4. Top with a light smear of Maggie Beer Quince Paste.
5. Open a chilled stout or dark ale of your choice.
6. Munch away.
7. Enjoy.
And then top up with a big basket of fries loaded with cheese, a deep fried Chicago style pizza and a litre of coke 😉

.........................a litre of coke 😉

The only liquid that comes into this house in litre containers is either milk, or single malt scotch (preferrably more of the latter).

I haven't drunk Coke since I was about 15 or so (and that's a long long time ago).

Always say to the Bundy drinkers they need the Coke to dilute the poison they are drinking.

Bundy made me swear off rum for many years. Until a mate introduced me to Mount Gay Eclipse, and then I tried a few more (Appleton Estate 21YO being the best so far).

If I ever get sick of scotch I may switch to rum full time.

As much as I'd love to indulge, I can buy a decent watch for AUD$600 or so.

Well, if you're lucky, you could snag one of these for about the cost of a litre of Appleton 30YO.

You naughty Mom you!

Being in the military since the age of 16, even thinking of doing coke was enough for 30 days in the brig and a dishonourable discharge, so from that tender age I was pre-conditioned to avoiding drugs (except for cigarettes and alcohol of course!).

and as to a "Ginault", I'd rather be seen wearing a blatant Rolex fake than one of them.

But as I would never wear either of them, a good Seiko or Citizen diver would be my choice.

To the contrary, we usually fly PE rather than putting up with the wankers in business or first.
And while this isn't a diver, I think got it for less than $600.

That’s A fair comment, my questions have been a bit of a roller coaster.
It’s one of those things where the cheaper watches don’t have the same finish as Omega or Rolex. Iam sure one that did have a more generic automatic movement and lashed out on quality with ceramic bezel, open back etc would fit the bill.
Just a quick comment on this -you do know that Rolex doesn’t make a sapphire back- right? And Tudor uses an ETA based “generic” movement- as did Omega for years. And that several of the “lesser brand” companies mentioned here are known for incredible fit & finish.
Not trying to be harsh, but just trying to open your mind up to the idea that Rolex & Omega are not the only upper mid-tier brands making quality watches. If you are looking for people to convince you that a Rolex is the only way to go, there are forums for that. Here there is a more egalitarian view of watches and although it is Omega-centric, all watches are appreciated for their merits (even “cheap” watches that are done well and serve their purpose). Members who are reccomending $500 Seiko’s also own the watches after which you lust- they appreciate them equally for what they offer. We are trying to help you do the same.

Just FYI - many Tudors are now using an "in-house" (whatever that means) movement.
