Hello! I have been looking to buy a vintage omega for a while and yesterday I saw this watch. I am not sure about the condition or the history of the watch. I was wondering if someone could help me out.

The watch appears to be legit, but has some condition issues, notably the dial is damaged and some parts appear to be missing in the movement. It is what one would consider an entry-level vintage Omega because of the thin gold plated case.

I’m not convinced the mid case is correct. Unless the angles/shadows are playing tricks it doesn’t look like a 2982 case

Is it possible it was changed?

I would pass, as I think there are too many condition issues. Something feels off with the case too. The lugs are normally slimmer and taller.

These references pop up from time to time, one has to be patient, but once in a while one a perfect or near-perfect dial shows up.

Missing parts are really worrying, consider a service will cost you more than 300€ these days + any replacement parts.

For pricing, I think around 500€-550€ for a decently nice gold plated is around where they sell, sometimes less. The plating seems quite thin though, I have seen many been quite worn around the lugs and sides.
