I was actually talking about the watch, not the stached red car! 馃榿

Haha I know you're a 911 guy (as am I) and I thought that is what you were referring to!

Daytona and 991.1 C2S, the car got stolen and damaged in December last year, insurance wanted to write it off out of fear of the engine and drivetrain so I鈥檝e been slowly paying for the minor repairs myself. Should have it drivable next week and fully repaired by the week after.

Hide your keys very well even if you鈥檙e at home at the time.

I can't believe those brazen thieves took the time to replace the manual transmission with a PDK!

Mate I鈥檇 have loved a manual but it was 2/3rd the price of the cheapest manual and my left knee doesn鈥檛 mind the PDK with how bad the traffic is due to Covid these days. As far as auto boxes go it鈥檚 about the best I鈥檝e ever driven.

I'm just giving you a hard time for no good reason. I hear ya! I'm about to ditch my M/T for a flappy paddle when my daily needs replacing...possibly end of this year.
I've never driven a PDK, but the newer VW/Audi slush boxes are pretty dang good.

Slappy paddles are pretty good....some complain that on the wheel rather than on the column they are not quite right but in mrs. P's Boxster S they get the job done very nicely.

Make sure you try it first is my advice if you haven't done so yet...

I'm thinking about replacing the STi, and I thought I might give a go to VW's Golf R with the DSG... I was about to be in peace with the concept of moving the lever back and forth to select gears, as opposed to moving it back and forth and left and right 馃榿

What completely threw me off is that you had to pull the gear shift to go down one gear, and to push it to go up one gear... If I'm flooring it and I'm yanked backwards in my seat I want to be able to gear up by pulling the lever... Not the other way around!!

The PDK IS laid out the the right way though!

I also got a chance to try one of the rare stick ones in the area, but somehow I didn't like it...

Net I will keep putting cash in the scooby for now馃グ

All the best and stay safe guys...

I'm somewhat in the same boat. I have 2015 GTI that has given me no trouble and I do really like. BUT this is the longest I have ever owned any car and I'm ready for a change...and I'm thinking that change will be the new MK8.
