As a Brit I struggle too but whenever I ask I'm always glad I did.
Said "nice watch" to old man working in M&S. it was his first day on the till. It was a GMT 1675 and he said it had only been off his wrist once since he bought it new in the early 70s. For one service.
One watch man.
Anyway, nice one OP for sharing. [emoji106]

I always envisage the moment you ask and they think "is this guy gonna rob me?" I suppose it's a London thing, or just my own cynicism

Cra-cra. I heard that term used couple years back and had no idea what it meant. Since learned it a few steps above crazy.

I too pause the TV when I see a watch. But not to the extreme of saving a screenshot. So you are cra-cra. 😀

I don't take stills, but I definitely point out to my girlfriend what watches people are wearing when we are out. She thinks I'm crazy too! Crazy about watches!

I always pause movies/tv shows if I get an opportunity to. And I also ask people in public. And tell my girl friend to check out "that guys watch over there" and if I can do it conspicuously, I'll snap a pic! So no not crazy

Keeping this party moving....this one is actually quite funny...see if you can tell what's nutty about this one. Oceans 13, scene where they are synchronizing their watches.

Ok, second challenge...clearly Tag on the right, but I don't know on the left. Digital background, analog hands and what looks like titanium body. Figure some company paid handsomely to have this closeup(although it is really really fast).

We do that all the time. Pausing tv shows or asking about watches. Don't normally take pics though.
