Agree about the watch is holding value.

Just wanting to see how much I can get them down too. The more discount for me the better lol.
Wrong! As with cars, the more discount that's available, the more you're buying something that needs distress marketing, and the less will be its eventual residual value.

If you like it go for it! In this case, I looooove it!! Watches aren't necessarily an investment, but some do fair better than others. If you're looking to buy for that reason and sell in the near future... then prob not. If you plan to wear with good health and hope that it doesn't depreciate as much compared to other brands/models then definitely yes! Also, if you feel like you can't live without it and find yourself scouring all ends of the earth and internet to see pics then.... you should buy it yesterday =)

I like the ck-2998 on a bracelet on my wrist and it rocks. Investment? I listen to Warren Buffet.

Thinking about the 40th anniversary one or the appllo 15? I just need a bracelet watch for everyday. Recommendation?

It seems like. No matter what % of discount I can get at the AD, it's still not a good buy since we all expected the price to fall after the market is saturated. That's what everyone is saying, right?

Thanks all. I will wait then!!!

I will go back there this weekend, maybe if they give me 20% off I may take it.

Logically, it's a losing battle sounds like. (confused lol ) Thanks all.
If you love the watch and plan to keep and enjoy it the rest of your life then resale value hardly matters. If you absolute love it, then buy it brand new for 10% off. Maybe try to squeeze 13% and see what the AD says.
Value is in the eyes of the buyer or the flipper, which are you 😀 good luck and enjoy this buying time.

Thanks Repoman!!! Now you make me want to buy it. I will stop by them again this weekend if they want to give 15-20% off like they agreed on the planet ocean. I may pick it up then.

I don't plan to flip it. I will keep it for a while and get a bracelet for it (See got all things planned in my head already).
One thing I've learned from buying watches is never listen to the voices in my head, many times they're wrong, lol!

Apollo 11 40th looks pretty good on a bracelet. And at the moment I think the Apollo 11 editions are more popular, perhaps even increasing in value, over the 15. If you like Panda dials, Apollo 11 35th looks nice on bracelet too.

Top of the lugs is polished and the side of the lugs are brushed so you need to pick one side to match. Polished bracelet or partial at least is not my cup of tea.

If you like, buy it. If my AD had one and would give me 10% off MSRP, I'd buy.
I happen to like this watch a great deal. For me, MSRP seems fair, at least in Canada.

6300 usd is the lowest sale I saw on ebay for a watch that sold, not one that someone hopes to sell. It is likely to go down as much as 1000 to 2000 usd in the next year or two then start back upward again, in my opinion. If you can't wait, it will appreciate eventually, and you will have a watch worth what you paid or more. As usual, you should probably buy what you like for your own reasons if you can afford it.

Some things in life are worth paying for. Not everything you buy are investments, some things are straight up enjoyment. Pay 45k for a Lexus, drive it 10 years and trade it in with 140k miles on it for 6k. But you'll love it. Some things are worth paying for... Period. The ck2998 is beautiful.

Seeing the 2998 LE on wrists, it looks very large. Is it larger than the current "moon watch"?

No. It's a tad smaller. Very noticeable when compared to my other Speedmasters. Do like the smaller size.
