So, what is the crack with your other bezels?

Are they repro or have you come across some magic stash of genuine, NOS base 1000 bezels?

I don't know this for certain as they aren't in my watch list, but it was mentioned earlier that you had some steel base1000 bezels earlier in the summer.

Was that you? If so, were they repro or have you sold several genuine base1000's recently?

The steel base1000's then that were listed on eBay earlier this summer. They weren't sold by you, or they were sold by you but were genuine?

Have you or will you be selling any repro base1000's on eBay.

Looking forward to answers to the questions already asked:

Did you offer reproduction bezels ?

How can you help us understand the differences in the photographs of the bezel on the 2915 case and the one in your auction?

Well, don't ever tell me again that it was me who was not willing to discuss this topic to the bitter end!

Too sad that fun is over and my auction you ALL had you personal perfidious pleasure with has been cancelled.

Not me - I have no interest in the bezel at all, in fact I have more interest in feeding a dog my arm, but thanks!

Don't you have asses in your pants? (German: "Habt ihr keinen Arsch in der Hose?")

I am still waiting...
Der Arsch in der Hose fehlt Dir. Beantworte doch einfach die Frage! Und gut.

Well, you weren't specific in your previous response and given the length and breadth of this thread, I wanted a clear, definitive answer, so thanks for clearing that up.

So you do have reproduction bezels.

You did offer them for sale.

This is why, as a buyer, I would want to be reassured that the bezel you were trying to sell is not reproduction.

Am I being unreasonable?

You still cannot account for any difference in appearance between the bezel on the case, and the bezel that was on sale? Did you clean it? Do different lighting conditions account for the difference in the tail of the nine? The size of the dot?

These are simple questions which with a cool head might might be answered in such a way as to help us all.

The most interesting thing is that you have acces to reproduction bezels.

Perhaps you would like to share with the community haw you did it? And how we can in the future protect ourselves from fraud, should any of these bezels come onto the market in future?

Let me stress again - I am not interested in a slanging match. But I would dearly love to find out if there are reproduction bezels being made, where they are, and how to recognise them.

I Like to think any honest, right minded individual would also share this information too.

After all, no one like to see people cheated, and I am not suggesting you are, at this point.

But please, answer the questions with a cool head, help us understand the fake bezels, and why you make them, and if you would like us to be able to spot them or not?

I don't get the whole 'Roman Inquisition' angle?

If it's genuine, you know exactly how rare and special it is in this condition, so surely you can understand the disbelief from collectors as to its originality. Especially after seeing how vintage Rolex has gone in recent years.

Inevitable, but a shame. He was defintely on a suicide mission, if only to prove his point to himself.

This was building up to be one of the all time classic ranty threads. Ho hum.

In my experience, people with integrity behave like gentlemen - they are clear and concise with their replies and conduct their business in a similar manner. I have always known my German and Austrian friends to be direct and precise and this fellow was anything but.
