Hi guys, sorry to revive this post but is this chronofelix the same guy? He's got a DON bezel posted on eBay. Any thoughts on its authenticity?

AAAAAND he's back! 😒

https://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-VI...CK-2915-2998-BASE-1000-DON-BEZEL/123592999427

Man, this dude just has a never-ending pipeline of these... Even named himself after it. 🙄

Sorry to necro, but I figured it was worth the PSA if it saves someone who hasn't seen this thread before. He's learned to beat up the bezels now to make them more convincing, and his pricing is now only slightly absurd, if that (as opposed to completely incomprehensible).

I believe this Ebay Base 1000 example is genuine.

Okay that's good to know, thanks! I had seen the seller's name and was automatically on high alert, would be scared buying from that seller myself since I don't have your expertise and he's sold repros before!

It's a tough thing I've encountered a couple of times in general -- what to do when a dubious seller is offering something that looks correct on its own, without the context. I've always defaulted to shying away in those instances, but primarily because I don't have the expertise.

Thanks for correcting me!

I am not sure if it's not just a "aged" version of his previous bezels. Why? No reason to trust the seller, he appears with so many names to cover his activities, real pathologic efforts all in all.

On Ebay he is/was tachymetre_base_1000, later/parallel then *chronofelix*
The same guy hit OF then as:
Geometer: his debute on OF and in this thread..a stunning appearance!
or nerdbedusa - his second appearance here, less stunning than his first, but still a stunner..
or Winston 1984 - his third, less stunning, but stupid enough.

..and I got the feeling he is back again for some weeks now, on OF. If it's not just a gutt feeling, I'm sure it will be sorted out by the staff.

Keep your eyes open, Gentlemen 😀
